Koolgus Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) The only thing I can complain about is how people become careless not saying Tekken is careless but its starting to look that way. Most of us have jtagged or jailbroken consoles because we didn't wanna deal with all the restrictions. Well my complaint is why am I being restricted by a program I pay for sure its only 10 bucks hell I'd even pay more but If I pay for something I wanna do with it as I please if I wanna give it to a friend then I should be able to. When you buy a piece of software you are buying a license to use that software on a certain number of devices (in most cases 1 device). If you buy a copy of Windows you arent entitled to install that copy of Windows on any computer you like as many times as you like for the rest of your life. If your friend wants Windows for his computer you arent entitled to just give him yours. Same applies here, if your friend wants a copy of X-Packer 9 then your friend should buy it and if he doesn't want to then he doesn't have to. If you could buy the program and just give it to other people then what would stop you reuploading it and giving it to the world for free.....nothing! Why should all the time and effort Tekken put into this be for nothing? Tekken doesn't owe you anything. Never said he owed me anything but if you understood my theory about restrictions this would make all of us hypocrites/ Sony and Microsoft spend years making consoles and here we are with illegal consoles sharing software and making illegal software against there wishes and restrictions. I mean cmon isnt the real reason why we all have modded consoles is because of restrictions. I see the same thing happening here just my thoughts on the situation.I'll still be purchasing the program regardless. Edited November 26, 2013 by Koolgus Quote
Dbo2700 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Has the purchasing halted for Xpacker? Should we wait a couple weeks? My condolences Tekken. Quote

I understand what you are saying about restrictions but theres a big difference between screwing over big companies like THQ/2k/Microsoft/Sony and not giving independent programmers like Brienj and Tekken something for their time and effort. The only reason I have a JTAG is so I can mod WWE games and without people like Tekken and Brienj the options for modding would be a lot more limited. Im not trying to start an argument with you I just think that when there is an opportunity to support the guys with the skills and the knowledge to help us make these games better then we should support them. I would rather pay Tekken $100 than give any money to THQ/2k for their broken ass yearly updates to a 7 year old game. Edited November 26, 2013 by Red Rooster Quote

Red has a point true that tekken57 and brienj are great program makers if we can mod update attires that thq/2k wont plus they cant even buy copyrights to cm punks tats to add to the game or even brocks sponsor logos im glad we have modders, before i even bought a rgh id complain and complain about outdated attires in the game or lack of the roster, so im thankful we have these guys Quote
tekken57 Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) @Koolgus This is a discussion forum and you are entitled to your opinion. I've enumerated my reasons for requesting a $10 donation for x-packer 9 and won't go through those again. Every single line of code of the 73000 + lines in X-Packer remains my intellectual property. I've know how to get the dlc working for some time now and was not obligated to share the knowledge or code the functionality into X-Packer. I takes time and effort on my part to code, write up tutorials and provide user support. Time which could be spent on commercial projects. I provided 8 free versions of the program in four years and shared the knowledge with the community. If you are not happy with the terms of X-Packer 9, you can use X-Packer 8 and a hex editor as an alternative. I created this thread to provide user support to users of X-Packer 9. I will not discuss this further. @dbo2700 Yes, I am still processing orders in the evenings. Edited November 26, 2013 by tekken57 Quote

In the moment I buy a console, I can use it for my private use like I want. Illegal is making money with the modded console. About the software, if the code is from your property it isn´t illegal. Using a tool made with the code of a company is another question. If we was doing illegal things we were going to the jail. Quote

I dont like how you guys keep throwing the slangs at me like I said I wasn't appreciative of Tekken or Brienj I have never said that and I never said I wasn't satisfied with Xpacker.I could have just been a dick and said this should be free without giving a reason but I gave my thoughts on the serial thing and I have taken what all of you have said in consideration and I understand where you guys are coming from so I'll just drop this topic and get back on subject. I have donated for Xpacker 9 cant wait to use this tool Quote

tekken57 Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Basically the procedure for injecting caws: 1. Create a caw in your game in the slot you want to inject into. 2. Open the other persons save file using the "Caw Info" option. 3. Extract the caw info for the slots you want to inject into your game. 4. Open your save using the "Caw Info" option 5. Inject the others persons caw info into the slots for the caw's you want to inject. 6. Resign the other person's cas files with your console and profile id. 7. Copy your save and the resigned cas files onto your console. Quote
Koolgus Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I thought there would be some kind of support where we could open up the minitron pac files in the evtmov and replace them can you add support for that? Quote
tekken57 Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Open the evtmove file using the pac containing directories option (ctrl+r), you can inject and extract from there. Use the update arc for non wrestler pac button if you are injecting bik files which are bigger than the original. Quote
