zhigge Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 i wish he comes back and reveal how to create dlc and unlock the dlc slots in svr2011.. i'm going crazy trying to figure it out. not sure why these guys that know how are keeping the info to themselves.. Quote
nikethebike Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 I think one of the reasons brienj let out less and less info was due to all n00b questions he received... Quote
tekken57 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I was wondering Tekken if I was to release a 3.0 version or another mod would it be ok to use your mods? Id like to get in touch with brienj to get his thoughts on redistributing his hack as a v 3 but have no clue how to talk to him. Go for it bro. I released the mods to be used by the community i wish he comes back and reveal how to create dlc and unlock the dlc slots in svr2011.. i'm going crazy trying to figure it out. not sure why these guys that know how are keeping the info to themselves.. It's not a simple matter to add wrestlers to the game. There's a lot of additional work that needs to be done. If I actually get some time after 2k14 comes out, I may spend some time looking into adding wrestlers as dlc. Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Did'nt the Mozzer0 files that I provided help ? Quote
zhigge Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) Did'nt the Mozzer0 files that I provided help ? nope. i'm working on the 360 version. the way you enable wrestlers the ps3 is different than on the 360. i found that out from searching 2-3 year old threads.I've been looking thru those files and old forums text from caws and other places. actually from your site also.. brienj started to explain it slowly on the 2k13 board but then people lost intrest. I tried to revive and was met with confrontation which is pointless on a information sharing board. so i'm trying myself and after 3 weeks (one week trying to add moves) of literally non stop trial and error i get nothing. i've tried to modify the dlc 1 file to change the wrestler. that worked. but to add another one didn't. I tried to modify the dlc 3 file same result. i tried to add another dlc file with just one wrestler added and that didn't work. i've tried adding wrestlers as alternates attires on the dlc to enable a slot. no go. right now i'd be content if i can give the no models entrances. at least i would have accomplished something. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- regarding the comment on being tired of noob question. i say just release a tutorial and if we don't get it then, we don't get it. you don't have to explain anything else. but to keep the information after you have already released it sucks. why make other reinvent the wheel when you have the wheel, the blueprints to said wheel, and have made the wheel a few times already. I'm trying and its driving me crazy because if he even just released the source code to the tool he had that would be awesome. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: after using fresh eyes, i think i may have found something i missed.before. I will update later today..gotta a production shoot for most of the day. Update 2: no avail. I saw where they were adding the dlc via adding another entry onto the dlc costumes. but it is not working you get a dirty disk error.. Edited August 27, 2013 by zhigge Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Nike I fixed the Edge pac and pmed you the link, all you have to do is update the arcs for additional attires in xpacker & it works perfect now. Credit goes to Tekken for giving me the idea of injecting the texture into a working pach file. Quote
tekken57 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 @zhigge, the dirty disc error means that the game cannot find the pach/pac file containing the wrestler files. Seems like you are close to getting it working though. Quote
Miztah Raza Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Yo Zhigge, would you mind telling me what you're doing, I want to try it out myself(but for 2010) and see if it works, if it does, it'll most likely work for 2011 also. If you could pass on all the info you have on that, it'd give me a good start. Quote
nikethebike Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Yeah I hope this will end up as some type of tutorial or something. Quote
Miztah Raza Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Yeah, if Zhigge or I figure it out, I'll write up a tut.Hey, nike, would you mind doing me a favour? Would you mind:Injecting an edited DDS file (DXT 5, no mip maps, 512x512) into the 0000.bpe/pac(inside the SSFA.PACH in the DLC_HD.pac) in the 0064 slot. Then, using my tutorial, ZLIB compress the edited 0000.pac and inject into the SSFA.PACH and then inject that into the DLC_HD.Now, boot up the game and see if the rock has the edited select pic or if it stays the same, the SSFA.PACH select pics are used in the matchup screen, where it shows THE ROCK VS. XX at ARENA.Please do this and tell me if it works, I tried and the select pics stay the same, so I'm a bit confused. Quote
zhigge Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 will do fellas and thanks for the clarification on the disk error. Quote
Miztah Raza Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I'll be waiting for that PM, dude ;)2 Quote
nikethebike Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Sorry I have enough of work going on, fixing Edge and writing the gameplay hack... Unless you can wait... Quote
Miztah Raza Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Dude, I can absolutely wait, just take your time I just need to know if you're willing to, if not today, tomorrow, if not, the day after, if not, the day after that, no worries Quote
tekken57 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 the select pics stay the same, so I'm a bit confused. The name of the select pic needs to be the same of the ID of the wrestler you want it to appear for. Quote
zhigge Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) below is the BPE string for ABA undertaker from the chetc.pac. The top one is from the original disc pre-any dlc added, and the bottom one is from dlc pac 3 with cena and taker added. if we can figure out what each byte means we have cracked the dlc enable slot mystery. i spaced out the the pacs where there are differences.. as you see they are almost identical except where highlighted. 42504520000100006000000008010000FE7FF 706 06060101FCFCFF00FDFDFEFEFFFF00004A0001000801FEFF05FEFB0500F8F8FE06000FFF100010 42504520000100005F00000008010000FE7FF 630FA0706060101FCFCFF00FDFDFEFEFFFF0000470001000801FEFF05FEFB0500F8F8FE06000FFF100010 Edited August 28, 2013 by zhigge Quote
nikethebike Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 (edited) I hope someone will use my gameplay hacks later, turned out to be much more complex programming (more intelligent logic needed) than I had thought at first so I am putting some time into this. I am now moving moves depending on their type, for example to power irish whip spots (perform signature by holding IW button), setting abilities to enable hammer throw (trying not to replace abilities if possible), moving ground moves to pick up positions (perform signature once again with pickup/IW button), set irish whip rebound grapples in the leap frog position and moving other moves to ordinary positions doing my best to automatically not overwrite moves. It will be interesting to see how the in game AI reacts to this as I have not tried it yet. A signature will now be a weaker finisher, just like a stored finisher was in the older games. Signature moves works like finishers in 2010 (computer always goes for pin after it) so they might as well be finishers in my opinion, but they will be weaker if you don't do them as an "F" move. You can choose to build up your meter to a hit-once finisher (F flashing), go for the cover after the "S" finisher and hope for it to be enough or perform two finishers in a row. Also, this makes it more possible to hit a "comeback finisher" something that was hard to do since there was no stored finishers before. Build your meter up close to F - get beat (but not until "signature" goes away from the meter) and during that window you have the chance of hitting a comeback finisher. I hope you guys are willing to try this as I think it will make the gameplay better. Edited August 30, 2013 by nikethebike Quote
nikethebike Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 Hmmm, at byte offset 326 in a moveset there is a RUNNING REBOUND LEAPFROG move. Does anyone know how this is executed? The duck/leap move is executed by pressing X (PS) or A (X360) and is located at offset 324 RUNNING REBOUND LEAP OR DUCK so it is not this move... Anyone know if there is an ability required or something and how to execute it? Quote
Miztah Raza Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 The gameplay hacks sound really cool, Nike! Can't wait! Quote
nikethebike Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 YES! I finally finished the hack that moves signatures to regular moves and copies finishers to signature spots. Can't wait to test this tomorrow. Quote
Miztah Raza Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Sounds too fking awesome, can't wait to get my hands on that Also, I'm learning to program, I've started out with C and have made some pointless applications so far, lol. It's helping me remember the commands/syntax though and I'm really enjoying it. Hopefully in a year or so, I'll be programming in a better/more powerful language and be making WWE game tools, what language would you recommend for doing that? Also, what language do you happen to program in/prefer? Quote
nikethebike Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 I use Ruby. A scripting language. Perfect for hacking. C is pretty low level, whereas Ruby is a high level completely object oriented language. I suggest you try something other than C, with Ruby or Java you don't have to care about memory allocation and things like that. The svredit editor is written as a web app in the web framework Ruby On Rails. You can find tutorials at rubyonrails.org that can get you started. The language is pretty much the easiest programming language that I have learnt at least and as long as you are just creating small hacking tools and scripts to do things it's awesome. Quote

nikethebike Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 Yeah C# is easier, more high level. On another note my hack did not work. It's not possible to set moves instead of the irish whip. I will need to overwrite moves at random instead, something I don't like. Quote
