Readme: Data Editor Version 2018.0.5.3 Beta Modding Tool for WWE 2k18 on the PC [Developed & tested with the official Steam Version with latest Patch] by Caveman ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This modding tool has been created to allow modders and users to easily edit and create Wrestler Information and Moveset files for their modded wrestlers, created superstars as well as tag teams and save them as .pofo, .moveset files and .team_info files, respectively. These files can be installed directly via TheVisitorX' Custom Character Tools (recommended), or be manually imported into the game via tools like Cheat Engine or Xpacker. The Data Editor may also allow to set several options and option combinations for .pofo, .moveset and .team_info files that are normally hidden and/or inaccessible in the game. In addition, the tool implements a GUI based on the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock helper mod that allows users to unlock alternate Attires for up to 100 wrestlers and easily change which wrestlers have attires unlocked and how many each and which name strings is assigned to which wrestlers' attires. Designed to work in tandem with Custom Character Tools 2018 by TheVisitorX to make modding easier and more accessible to everyone! This is a Beta version. Some functions may not be properly implemented yet and there are likely various bugs. Please report them if you find them! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- + Load and easily Edit and .pofo, .moveset, .team_info and .match Files! + Set Announcer Settings like the Country, State and City the wrestler hails from, their weight and the name referred to by commentary! + Set Entrance Themes, Titantrons, Ribon Trons, Wall & Banner Trons, Stage & Ramp Trons, Apron & Ring Post Trons and Entrance Animations for both basic entrance and advance entrance as well as Victory Animations, Warm-up, Trons and music! + Quickly Edit moves, basic and the Advanced Entrance outside the game! + Quickly Create and Edit Tag Teams and stables including entrances, victory scenes and more outside the game! + Edit Custom Matches outside the game and create matches not possible in the game! + Set the Crowd Signs the fans hold up for your wrestler. + Unlock Alternate Attires for wrestlers - includes an installer and GUI for the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock! + Set Attire Names and even save/load them in/from .attire_names files so you can include preset attire names with your attire pack! + Load and convert Legacy .pofo, .moveset and .team_info files from older Games and save them in a WWE 2k18 compliant format (unsupported experimental feature)! + Comes with a plethora of original, unmodified .pofo, .moveset, .team_info and .attire_names Template files from WWE2k18 and older games. + Load parts of .pofo/.moveset/.team_info files to mix and match and save the combination thereof to a new .pofo/.moveset/.team_info file! + Includes workarounds to force Victory Music and Trons for all Attires of any Wrestler, be it original or modded! + Easily launch external tools such as the Sound Editor 2018, Custom Character Tools 2018, Pozzum's Memory & String tables, WWE 2k18+ and more with a click of a button from within the Data Editor! + Easily inject/Install loaded/edited .pofo, .moveset, .team_info and .match files into game memory with only a couple of clicks in conjunction with TheVisitorX' Custom Character Tools 2018 (must be installed separately - check the Tools tab for a download/installation link)! + Directly load .pofo, .moveset, .team_info and .match files that the Custom Character Tools extracted from game memory via Custom Character Tools 2018 for editing! + Automatically keep the data Editor ID lists updated with your latest CAW names, Team names and Match names you have set in the game when you extract .pofo, .moveset, .team_info or .match files from the game via Custom Character Tools 2018! + Launch the game as well as various helpful external Modding tools, information, tutorials and more right from this tool! + Includes an installer for the fix to the startup crash with WWE 2k18 if mods are installed! + Includes a tool to check and download/install Data Editor 2k18 updates. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation steps: 1. When you click buttons to launch external tools for the first time, you'll be asked to point them to their respective executable files. If you do not have the respective external tools installed, download and install them first (you can always click the "Reset External Tool Directories" button to reset the paths of all the external tools so you can set them again or manually modify them individually by opening the respective \data\Settings\External\ExternalToolDirectory*.data files with a text editor). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DEINSTALLATION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steps to Uninstall: 1. Please use it, test it and help me to improve the program by reporting any bugs or issues you may encounter in the thread link below. In addition, some of the data used may not be accurate. Please contact me if you wish to provide an accurate, up-to-date list for the various dropdown boxes. Thank you very much! You can find the latest version of the Tool, give feedback, report bugs and discuss it at the following URL:http://smacktalks.org/wiki/index.php/Data_Editor_for_WWE_2k18 The tool is written in Java, and comes bundled with Java 8u152 (aka 1.8.0_152) for Windows x64 bit. In case it isn't working for you out of the box, you might install a newer version of the Java Runtime Enviroment x64 bit to run (it won't run with versions earlier than 1.8.0 or 32 bit versions for compatibility reasons). Java SE 8 or later is required. Earlier versions won't work. If you wish to use the main version of Java that's installed on your system, you will also have to rename or delete the \Resources\Java\jre* folder(s) in your Data Editor directory, which contains the bundled JRE. You can download a compatible version at the following URL (jre-8u152-windows-x64.exe):http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html During the installation, be careful to opt out of installing any additional programs you may not want to use! You have to run the Data Editor with elevated privileges ("Run as Administrator") for all of it's features to work properly. This is due to it requiring access to various files and functions that require elevated privileges. The tool is intended to be used to edit and create Wrestler Information, Moveset and Team Info files for the official Steam version of WWE 2k18 listed at the top of this readme file. The tool has been developed and tested for that very version. Any other versions, especially cracked ones, are not supported. You can find information about how to use the .pofo, .moveset and .team_info files created with this tool with the game in the following tutorials (some may be outdated):http://smacktalks.org/wiki/index.php/Pofo/Moveset_Modding You can find @TheVisitorX' Custom Character Tools 2018 that allows you to install .pofo, .moveset, .team_info files as well as wrestlers, trons and more at the following URL:http://www.smacktalks.org/wiki/index.php/Custom_Character_Tools You may find all the up-to-date Wrestler IDs, memory addresses required to add the created .pofo and .moveset files to the game as well as other information in Pozzum's WWE 2k18 Memory Tablem, which is accessible in Data Editor by clicking various "Memory Table" buttons. You may find valid hex codes for all the "Name String Hex Codes" fields in Pozzum's WWE 2k18 String Table, which is accessible in Data Editor via various String Table Buttons. To use external tools like Sound Editor, Custom Character Tools, etc. with the Data Editor you'll have to install them separately, then click the corresponding button in the Data Editor and point it to the respective tool's executable. You can find links to download pages for many useful External tools that you can integrate with Data Editor in the Data Editor 2k18's "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info, Downloads & Settings" tab. COMMAND LINE ARGUMENTS for integration into external tools: Valid command line arguments: -pofo "<absolutePathToFilename>\filename.pofo" -moveset "<absolutePathToFilename>\filename.moveset" -teaminfo "<absolutePathToFilename>\filename.team_info" -match "<absolutePathToFilename>\filename.match" -cawnames "<absolutePathToFilename>\filename.data" -teamnames "<absolutePathToFilename>\filename.data" -matchnames "<absolutePathToFilename>\filename.data" -titantron -ribbontron -walltron -stagetron -aprontron -help Examples: "Data Editor.exe" -pofo "C:\100.pofo" "Data Editor.exe" -moveset "C:\100.moveset" "Data Editor.exe" -teaminfo "C:\1.team_info" "Data Editor.exe" -match "C:\1.match" "Data Editor.exe" -pofo "C:\100.pofo" -moveset "C:\100.moveset" "Data Editor.exe" -moveset "C:\100.moveset" -pofo "C:\100.pofo" "Data Editor.exe" -moveset "C:\100.moveset" -pofo "C:\100.pofo" -teaminfo "C:\5.team_info" "Data Editor.exe" -moveset "C:\100.moveset" -pofo "C:\100.pofo" -teaminfo "C:\5.team_info" -match "C:\1.match" To display the Tools & Help section of the Data Editor right at startup, use the following parameter: "Data Editor.exe" -help ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KNOWN ISSUES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - The tool is designed for monitors with a vertical resolution of 1080 pixels. The resolution of 1920x1080 pixels is recommended. If your monitor has a lower native resolution than the recommended one, the Data Editor may not display all GUI elements properly. If you have a display with a lower than recommended resolution, you can use the scrollbars in each main tab, edit the data\Settings\SettingsMainWindowSizeAndPosition.data file manually (experimental, unsupported) or you can try using DSR (Nvidia video cards), VSR (AMD video cards) or a Downsampling tool of choice to activate and use a downsampled vertical resolution of 1080 pixels. Inform yourself how you can utilize those. - If you set a scroll factor other than 2 in the SettingsMainWindowSizeAndPosition.data file, some GUI elements may not be arranged properly anymore. - Windows (and possibly other OS) DPI and font scaling isn't supported due to Java Limitations and could lead to GUI elements being cut off, layed over each other or being shoved outside of the visible GUI window. Workaround: Set DPI Scaling and "Display Settings->Change size of text, apps and other items" to 100% (or 96DPI or "Smaller" depending on OS version) in Windows. If text is too small for you with this, you can set Data Editor.exe's Compatibility Option setting "Override high DPI scaling behavior." to "System" in the latest version of Windows 10 or change your resolution to 1920x1080 and scaling disabled while working with the Data Editor. The latter works best if scaling is set to a multiple of 100% (200%, for example). - The tool requires you to pick the game's .exe file in the directory WWE 2k18 is installed in order to work properly. - The Data Editor doesn't warn you about settings that are incompatible with each other, such as assigning the same Ability (of different or same level) to different slots or assigning Skills that are mutually exclusive. It also allows Hit Point percentages to be set below or above the threshold selectable in-game. - Scrollbars are always enabled in all main tabs for accessibility. - Due to certain limitations, there are currently no scroll bars available in popup windows. - The Alternate Attire Unlocker only works properly with the misc file from the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock 2k18 (included with Data Editor) or misc files based on it (the tool includes an installer if needed) or compatible versions. Trying it with other versions could mess up the files and your game. - Windows 10 64 bit Version 1709 is the only supported operating System, but it should likely also work with earlier versions of Windows 10, Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. The tool might not work correctly under Linux, Unix and other operating systems, however, due to having to be wrapped into a Windows executable (.exe) in order for it to be able to write in certain folders and launch and communicate with other tools like CCT and WWE 2k18+. - The Tag Team Editor doesn't check if you have duplicate Tag Team Members or if your Teams have Members 1 and 2. Ensure to set them manually to prevent possible crashes. - The .match Editor allows you to set combinations for matches otherwise not possible in the game. Many of them will work, however some combinations may lead to glitches or even crashes. Be cautious when testing these and always backup your save game beforehand! - Loading/editing a match edited with Data Editor's .match Editor in the game's creation suite will cause the game's restrictions to be applied. To prevent this, only edit matches you have applied game-unsupported combinations of conditions/rules/enviroments in the Data Editor and play them in the game to avoid them being reset. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CREDITS AND THANKS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to everyone that enjoys modding and has released mods or will release them in order to improve the game for everyone as well as those that have posted various tutorials and resources for modders to use! Cave Waverider Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Data Editor for WWE 2k18 Screenshots 1 Quote
Cave Waverider Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Known Bugs and Issues Known Bugs and Issues in the current version of Data Editor Open Beta: Data Editor may crash on startup/not starting when the System Locale/region/language/keyboard setting/currency/date and time format is set to an "exotic" region that doesn't use the latin alphabet (Known problematic regional Settings: Japan/Japanese), or if the path to Data Editor, WWE 2k18, any external linked tools or the Windows User name contains exotic characters. Try this workaround if you think you may be affected. Setting any height below 4'11" and above 7'5" (the "safe range" dictated by the game for models) will default to a 6'-ish height in the game instead. Bugs and Issues that are a problem with the game or other software in relation to Data Editor and are commonly mistaken by being Data Editor bugs and issues (Please report those to the appropriate developers of the software the bug is related to): Data Editor Fonts and other GUI Elements misaligned/missing/wrong size (Microsoft Windows (Font) Scaling Bug): When using Windows (font) scaling, Data Editor's GUI Elements can appear out of place, misaligned, overlapping, or even "missing" depending on the type and amount of scaling used. This is due to a bug in Windows which causes Windows to go against it's own spec and thus ignore what the application tells the operating system about it's (Font) Scaling capabilities (same goes for most if not all Java programs as well as many non-Java programs, including some Windows Store ones, which is just ironic).Click here to read about some Workarounds if you are affected by this bug. Hometown/Announce Data gone (WWE 2k18 Game Issue): WWE 2k18 resets the Hometown/Announce Data of every .pofo to the default values for each slot on every game start. WWE 2k18+ doesn't recognize sent .moveset file (WWE 2k18+ Bug): When Data editor sends only a moveset file to WWE 2k18+ via the -moveset command, WWE 2k18+ won't recognize it (sending only .pofo or .pofo and .moveset together works). Also note that WWE 2k18+ isn't capable of handling .team_info or .match files at the time of this writing yet, even though Data Editor has buttons available for potential future considerations. Alternate Attire Unlocker stops working in the game (Outdated Chunk0.def Rebuilder issue): Some older Chunk0.def rebuilders out there (such as the Update_Index script/the rebuild .def functionality in WWE 2k18+, etc.) are simple scripts that will not check for duplicates and also won't give priority to the \WWE 2k18\mods\ folder. This means that the Attire Unlocker may stop working when using them after using the Alternate Attire Unlocker to save the data to the misc file as the game won't know which file to use. What you can do to fix it after you used one of the older rebuilders is to Open Data Editor's Alternate Attire Unlocker and re-save the data to the misc file. This should also correct the path of the Attire Unlocker Entry if it has been changed by one of these older rebuilders. It is highly recommended, however, to use Custom Character Tools 2018's Utilities->Regenerate Chunk0.def menu option after you install new .pac files instead of the older scripts. CCT's rebuilder is a far more advanced, "smart" rebuilder that checks for and corrects conflicts like duplicate files and gives priority to files in the \WWE 2k18\mods\ folder and it's sub-folders to ensure everything is set properly. Data Editor Crash on startup when Windows is set to non-latin alphabet region (Windows region/language issue): Data Editor may crash on startup/not starting when the System Locale/region/language/keyboard setting/currency/date and time format is set to an "exotic" region that doesn't use the latin alphabet (Known problematic regional Settings: Japan/Japanese), or if the path to Data Editor, WWE 2k18, any external linked tools or the Windows User name contains exotic characters. This should no longer happen with Data Editor for WWE 2k18 build 2018.0.5.0.6 Beta or later, but you can try this workaround if you think you may still be affected. Quote

Cave Waverider Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 52 minutes ago, Alejandro martin said: THANKS ! but i cant open it xd, win 10 Are you getting any errors? You'll have to provide more details so I can try to reproduce it. What exactly have you tried to do, step-by-step? You have to have Java JRE 8.x installed (9.x won't work as it's incompatible with legacy Java applications), it should prompt you for it. If it doesn't start at all, you might have some software (or hardware, but that's less likely) that's incompatible with the Windows 10 Creator's Update installed and have to update that. Most likely culprit is Overlay software like MSI Afterburner/Riva Tuner Statistics Server, EVGA Precision, Overwolf, etc.. If you have such software, update it to the latest, Creator's Update compatible version or disable/uninstall it and Data Editor as well as a bunch of other applications may just work. Also ensure to update all your drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer's website (especially video card drivers - the ones from Windows Update usually cause nothing but trouble). Quote
myk13 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Thank you Cave and everyone involved!!! Let the mods begin!! Quote
kkt661 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Thanks cave but i can't open Data Editor, i installed Java JRE 8.XXX and i checked all drivers, but it doesn't start at all. i'm win7 user Quote
BamBams Universe Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 @Alejandro martin @kkt661 maybe the problem is your virus scanner? Some virus scanners recognize the program as a virus (although it is not one !!!). During the installation and after the first start, I deactivated the virus scanner for a short time and then activated it again. For me, the program runs flawlessly. (Win 10) 1 Quote
Freon Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Incredible tool! Already tested it with AJ Styles 10 attire pack. Working perfectly. Many options & easy to comprehend. Edited the string file to my liking since i had already taken those specific WRESTLEMANIA slots for my own creations, so i edited the string & moved the ATTIRE 1, ATTIRE 2, etc sequence beginning at WRESTLEMANIA 21 through 30. Thanks a million for this. Using Windows 7 Ultimate x64. No problems to report. 1 Quote
Goon3r73 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Ok, so DE is installed and no problems there. Universal Attire Unlocker seems to be working ok. I thought I would try out Alc's AJ Styles 10 attire pac for starters. I have added the necessary pac files into my ch pac folder within my games folder as normal. Hopefully followed the steps in the attire unlocker. I say hopefully because I may have messed up somewhere. The reason I say this is because when I select AJ I don't get the option of 10 attires. So I must be doing something wrong somewhere. I have tried looking at your tutorials in the drop down section but there are none there yet. I will stress this is my first time using the tool so please forgive me with this. I am sure I will get the hang of it, however, a little help for starters would be most appreciated. Many thanks. Did you pick an unassigned slot, then select 10 attires for him and then press the Save Data to misc01_start.pac button? Also, make sure that the game isn't running when you manipulate/add .pac files or update your .def file, as they may be locked down by the game and the game only loads new/changed .pac files on startup anyhow. Maybe you have used one of the older non-CCT .def regenerator scripts after saving to the Attire data to the misc file, which may cause issues. I suggest using CCT's Utilities->Regenerate Chunk0.def menu entry to regenerate the .def file instead, as it's a more advanced utility. On a side note, I suggest installing the actual ch*.pac files via CCT's Install->CH-Pac file(s) menu entry. All you have to worry about with that are the correct file names (chXXXYZ.pac where XXX is the Wrestler ID, Y is the attire number (0=Attire 1, 1= Attire 2, ... , 9 = Attire 10), Z is the attire type (2 = ring attire, 4 = entrance attire)), and it will automatically rename the EMD section to match the file name, install the files, even convert them from HSPC to EPK8 if necessary and then "smartly" update the .def file. I think I know what I may have done. Within your attire unlocker I selected AJ's assigned slot thinking I needed to choose that. I hadn't realised or misread I needed to choose an unassigned slot. I will try again and I will take a look at the CCT you mention. That seems simple enough from how you have explained it above. I will go back to the drawing board so to speak and try again. Many thanks. Edit: CCT installed correctly. Yes that is a lot easier for installing ch pac files I must say. The only bit I don't get now is where you mentioned an unassigned slot then select the 10 attires for him. Ah hang on, is the assigned slot his default attire? Edit2: Seems I needed to use CCT to install the ch pac files. I can confirm all working correctly now. You know one day I will be able to post here regarding something working first time around, and more to the point. myself installing it/them correctly Many thanks to yourself Cave, and all the guys who have brought this awesome tool to us the community to use. Thank you very much. Edited December 29, 2017 by Goon3r73 1 Quote

You might also want to try turning User Account Control off. Have you extracted the whole .zip archive to a folder you have full read/write/execute permission? Did you receive a prompt to select the game's .exe file on startup and choose your game's .exe file? Ensure that your windows account has full read/write/execute permissions for both the Data Editor 2k18 folder as well as the Steam and game folder and where they reside. Otherwise try to move them to a different directory. You can also try logging in with an administrative account and see if that helps. Also make sure you are running the official Steam version of the game. Otherwise it might be some conflict caused by faulty software. If you are using any overlay software/GPU monitoring program, try turning it off. If that helps, you will have to update that program. 4 hours ago, Jovanco22 said: hey cave so I installed Universal Attire Unlocker I assigned all 67 wrestlers to have 10 attires slots and then i turn on the game select for example had john cena which is attire slot ch13912 attire 2 and didn't work also tried randy orton but it still doesn't work any solutions??? The attires were selectable in the game but only the default attire shows up, no matter which attire you choose, correct? If so, you probably didn't download and install the attires themselves or didn't do it properly. The game will default to the first attire if you do not have other attires installed. You'll have to download attires for the wrestlers you wish to have them for and install them properly. To install them properly, use Custom Character Tools 2018's Install->CH-Pac files function. You can read more about how to install characters on the Smacktalks Wiki. 2 hours ago, Alejandro martin said: en...i try version for wwe 2k17 ,it works , this version for 2k18 still no works I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't work, since both use the same code base. It may be that your antivirus or security software is blocking it or some other issue or software conflict with your system.Try to disable the security/antivirus/smart screen filter and/or create an exception rule to let it through. Also, ensure that you have extracted the complete content of the .zip file. You might also want to try turning User Account Control off. Quote
