Modded superstars not working properly in Universe mode?

Not sure what's going on or what should even be going on, but for some odd reason, whenever I install a modded superstar in game, everything works fine and dandy in Exhibition mode (entrances, moves, all that stuff), but when I play the same superstar in Universe mode, they all have the same "peppy" entrance, either similar themes or silence, and the same "John Cena impersonator" moveset. Though it is kind of funny seeing guys like Hulk Hogan & CM Punk channel the master of Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect in their matches, it kills the vibe entirely compared to said stars actually having their own movesets. Attached are comparisons of Tomasso Ciampa's movesets in Universe & Exhibition mode respectively, both against the same opponent for good measure.

For universe mode to work..you need to do this things..

1)go to create an entrance on exhibition..click on your mod wrestlers..no need to change everyhing..just save their entrance on exhibition and universe mode..double tick before save..after that,your mod wrestlers on universe will get same entrance as exhibition..(this one if you use cae item adder only)..if you only inject pofo and movesets to that mods, you can't save it like that..their entrance will be gone..

2)for movesets and victory motion, need to do the same thing..double tick and save on exhibition for all your mods wrestlers..

Don't forget to inject the .pofo and .moveset for your wrestlers in the slot for your Universe save as well.

Im still having trouble getting the correct entrance for my Punk in Universe mode. I tried all the things above in the game entrance edit, and I injected using wrestleplus with universe checked, but the entrance defaults to the Rock. I am using Azu's punk, but have injected in shaneomac as I want to see a render for my mod. Works fine in quick match

 

Any idea how I can fix this?

The only way I know how is to add a string name for Punk's entrance and victory animations to the cae_item.pac file using cae_item adder. This way, you will be able to select the entrance and victory from the entrance creator preview.

Ok tried it and it still didnt work. The only part I'm not sure I did correctly is adding in the right EVT pac into the stream folder. I have Azu's punk victory EVT so renamed that to shane (00152 -- who I am trying to replace with punk) and dropped that into the evt folder. But when I open up shane, its still defaults to the rock entrance and only works when I inject using wrestlepus (pofo and moveset), which of course means I cant seem to get it to work in universe.

Really stumped now!

Hi, 

You don't need to rename the EVT id's even if you are replacing a character. Leave Shane's victory and entrance file's intact and just assign Punk's entrance and Victory using the default Hex values .

Ok thanks for the help. Shouldnt it work though if i have changed the evt # to 00152?

About the only modding I havent done is using the hex. Can you advise how to mod the hex for this?

Hi,

If you are just renaming the file, it wouldn't work. You will to open the file using hex editing software like HxD which is free. (I don't know if you have done this)

So what you need to do is download Hxd from this link. This is an invaluable tool. https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

after installing, you will need to open the entrance file with the tool. Locate the first column on the left named offset(h), scroll down that line to 800, you will see the following date bytes below. I have highlighted 131 which is the default ID. this is what the game reads, not the 00131 in the filename. You need to change both to 152 and save. You will also need to do the same for the victory animation, changing the id to that of the character you are replacing

Ok so tried this and now i cm punk entrance, but i cant gets trons or entrance music with this. I have uses hex to edit  punk trons (from Azu’s help video), so thats all coded to 152. When i go to entrance edit and select the trons, doesnt do it. In entrance edit, all the trons are there but punk has the rock’s entrance. When i change the entrance to “cm punk” which replaces shaneo, i lose the trons. When i play in exhibit, the entrance scene skips. When i play on universe mode, he enters with punk entrance but no music or trons

 

am stumped again. This feels harder than it should be! Any ideas are welcome!

Hi, 

the procedure I described in the previous post is for the entrance only. The trons and music is a different thing entirely.

If you watch Azn's video. you will see he injected the theme music using sound editor. You have renamed the trons to 152 which is great.

I will assume you have used CAE ITEM ADDER to add Punk's name string to the entrance creator in the game.

Now if you have renamed the trons to 152, this will mean that Shane will now be the string reference for the trons. You will have to select Shane for the trons's to work as you are now replacing a character. You will also have to select Shane for the entrance. If you select Punk, the game won't find the entrance and will default to the Rock's.

I suspect Punk's string is pointing to the default ID and you there are no trons available with that ID as you have renamed them.

For the theme, you will need to follow the instructions in Azn's tutorial on injecting the music. After this you need to make the change in the game.

Let me tell you exactly what I have done.

 

- used sound injector to inject punk theme into shane

- injected punk ch pac files into shane’s pac file (152) using xpacker 

- used xpacker to extract string file and changed shane’s name to cm Punk

-used xpacker to insert punk render into type a and b files

- used azu’s video and your assistance earlier to rename Azu’s punk’s entrance, victory and effect pac using hex editor to 152 (from 131). Once renamed, dropped them jnto the evt folder

- used azu’d video for trons, and opened hex editor to change these to 152, and followed azu’s process for injecting into the tron files, and dropped into the folder

- i used the cae editor and followed the process to inject punk pac file into the 003 file and injected into the main cae file.

 

- using wrestlplus to rebuild def.

 

am i doing any of these steps incorrectly?

No, 

You didn't need to inject Punk' CH pac file into Shanes. You only needed to change the ID via Hex.

Is it possible you could export or extract the pofo and moveset file for Punk from youer game, so I can examine in Data Editor ?

The cae 003 file id for the entrance name. You are only adding the name string for CM Punk. My question is whether you used Shane's id 152 for Punk or the default 131. If you used the default 131 and you select CM Punk, the game will not be able to locate the entrance file and will default to the Rock.

When i used jenke’s tool, it asked for the evt number, so i changed punk’s evt entrance pac file to rename to152 and then picked shane’s 4 digit from the spreasheet (cant remember what thats called now) and used that. To be honest, im super confused. Am out at the moment, but can send you the files when i get home in a couple of hours. Can you let me know how I can extract those file? Note that i was using azu’s punk pofo and moveset to inject into the game using wrestleplus as well.

You can use wrestleplus to extract the moveset. Just type in the pac no, select extract instead on inject.

How do you do this? I've injected them in the base game and they work perfectly in exhibition, but don't show up at all in Universe.
