Assigning different music by attires

Hey sorry to bump an old thread, I just didn't want to start a new one.

My question, is from my understanding of what's written above... is that if you do this, you will basically use 2 slots anyway?

Example: Attire 1-6 Razor Ramon, attire 7-10 Scott Hall. Razor and nWo music.

So this would take two character slots but just be listed as 1 character?

Hi, no it would take just one character a lot as they are alternate attires.

Ah, thank you. I guess when I read about like slot 100 and 101 it was meaning it would take multiple. Cool, I will have to try to learn this as it would be awesome to have different music for Razor and Scott Hall, etc.

@BlindedByTheGrace Sorry to resurrect this thread from the grave once again, but I am having some difficulty with this mainly because whenever I try to make any change to the assetconv_p30.pac file I get an error message in WrestleMinus

  • Conversion from string ' ' ' ' to type 'Double' is not valid

This happens both on the assetconv_p30.pac file itself, and the extracted vmum file it I try to work directly on that. Error is the same if I try to add a row or just edit one which is already there.

Any ideas please?

Hi,

You can't edit the file with the current version of wrestleminus. You will need an older version of the software as the edit got broken after that update. The version you need is 2.3.1

Version 2.3.1 indeed works, thanks - however the changes I made do not seem to have an effect.

I thought I'd keep it simple to begin with and assign a different entrance music to retro Undertaker ch346 attire 1, as an entry for that already exists. After I entered a "MUS Name" it automatically created the offset entry when I saved it in WrestleMINUS.

The only fields I edited are TitantronNum; MUS Name; and (indirectly) MUS Offset.

I checked the file in HxD and WrestleMINUS seems to have done that part (adding the reference music file to the end of the file)

See screenshots below (sorry, I seem to have terrible trouble uploading screenshots to Smacktalks)

I'd really appreciate some guidance on this, as adding alternative entrances to different attire slot will free up many more wrestler slots in my game

Here is a link to the assetconv_p30 file itself in case you would like to review it

I have had a look at the.

The music offset added in wrestleminus is just a placeholder. You will have to open the file in Hxd and locate the data for that slot.

This is the data for slot 346 (015A) when converted to hex. The 1 1AD0 is the offset refrence for the theme.

If you scroll down to the end of the file, look for the offset 011AD0 and you will see it points to The Undertaker's theme music. If you change the offset reference in screenahot 1 from D01A01 to F01A01 , save and test in the game, you will see it plays a different theme.

This alternate music has a few issues as it only seems to work for the first additional attire or just one attire. This might be a restriction as there hasn't been any character in the game with alternate themes in more than one additional  attire. Also if you are doing it to save ch slots, you have the option of using CAW slots for mods if you need more slots.

This is all (as ever) great advise, thank you - I guess I was relying too much on WrestleMINUS to do the heavy lifting for me!

Even if I can only add 1 additional entrance for each wrestler it'll still save me some space. To take The Undertaker example, I don't think his moveset changes that much during the 90s so if I merged it into a single character I'd have a free slot for a completely different person.

I already used your excellent workaround to activate more slots, thanks!
