There is also a generic moveset included that you can install over for the time being. The Anti Source Posted June 2, 2017 Share Posted June 2, 2017 After moving my WWE 2k17 folder to a different drive and ruining ALL my mods, I've spent an unhealthy amount of time trying to fix them. I'm pulling my hair out because I can't figure out why my custom strings in the string.pac file aren't being read correctly. 1. I do not have a backup of the string.pac file anywhere in the pac folder (which was the cause of this same problem two weeks ago) 2. I have tried replacing a custom string as well as an existing one. 3. Both times, the ORIGINAL text displays in-game instead of The Great Sasuke. Now I've tried reinstalling the pofo numerous times, restarting the game multiple times, checking WWE 2k17, WWE 2k17+, and Data Editor for any string.pac backups, reinstalled the string.pac file manually from the link in this thread AND updating it via WWE 2K17+. Did multiple searches on them for string_win, string pac, string.win, etc. Nothing. Manually looked through all the subfolders. Downloaded a fresh new string.pac from Pozzum's thread, moved it to my D: drive (WWE 2k17 is on the C: drive) Edited the string.pac on D:, saved it. Deleted the backup, emptied my recycle bin, Copied/pasted the string.pac from D: back to the WWE 2K17\pac folder Started WWE 2K17 and WWE2k17+, clicked "Reread String" Went into Edit Superstars, and the ORIGINAL text is still there. Even if I update the string via the button on WWE2K17+ or download it in your string thread, it is not giving me the new string names. In both downloads, once I open up string_win.pac, this is what I get: I do not have any backups of the file anywhere on my PC to conflict with the original, so as I've been for the past 3 - 4 days, I'm stumped.
