The Data Editor is awesome and works great with CCT. Is there a way to make the Data Editor scale with windows? The only way for me to see the tool properly is for me to set the windows scale to 100%. It's a headache on a TV.

I sadly haven't found a way to do so properly. I tried all kinds of workarounds I found online, but most either don't work, mess up the GUI element positions or just work at certain DPI settings but not at normal ones anymore. GUI programming can be quite a mess with Java, for some reason I can't even get the scrollbars on the Team Info Editor and Tools/Help section to work anymore. :(

no problem, it is what it is... It works great though and thanks for your work. You guys are helping to make a much better modding experience.

Hi, this is a fantastic tool. Thank you so much for the work you guys put behind this. Unfortunately I'm one of those guys that had many problems with his saves because of CCs in the past and i'm a little worried about losing all my saves so I'll probably use this once I have default save again (whenever the game decides to corrupt my save again, lol) But anyway I wanted to ask if the entrances IDs in this tool also includes the exported entrances from previous games like CM Punk and Del Rio entrances? If so do I have to manually import them? Or is it possible to add said entrances via this tool at all?. Even so thank you for so much for this tool again, is a must for any modder.

Make sure to backup your saves frequently (I do daily if I play or whenever I mod something). If your save gets corrupted, follow the steps in this guide (you can also access it via the button in the Help tab of the Data Editor) to restore a working save. A backup has never failed to restore for me this way and many others have been reporting success as well.

The IDs should be there (albeit not tame, just the value). You'll have to first install the entrance files, of course, but you'll be able to set those entrances in the .moveset file with the Data Editor and install that .moveset file into the game with Custom Character Tools.

Does the Future String installation included in this tool use the updated Future String or am I better off downloading the standalone?

For both the FT and the attire unlocker, do I have to install them with the game open or can I do it with the game closed?

Install the Future-Proof String and the Attire Unlocker (or make changes with it) while the game is closed. They are .pac files and the game only loads .pac files when it starts up.
I try to keep the included future String up to date, but it could very well be that it's outdated so it might be wiser to download and update it manually isntead. The Changelog in the readme file will state if I update the future string version. The included version right now is 5.0 which is the latest version at the time of this writing.

Thank you for the guide man, I've been testing it and it works perfectly, Yes the ID's for the imported entrances and win animations from 2k15 are there and it works perfectly. method 2 seems to be doing it for me, since most of my corrupt saves come from downloading something from CC. The only thing that would make it perfect would be if there's a way to find out how to edit the bail info and introduction names ID's some day. Thank you again for this :)

Minitron has been taken down again , gotta go 2 weeks without upload now , i tried

Oh my, that must be frustrating. Youtube has been really restrictive with their automatic ban detection lately, or so I've heard. Perhaps you should try some other video upload site instead. Not sure what's good at the moment.

I've spent this rainy Sunday of work to write down a bunch of detailed Text Tutorials on the use of the data editor on it's own and in conjunction with Custom Character Tools and added them to the Data Editor for WWE 2k16 Tutorials Post. I hope they're helpful.

I'm hoping that some of our community's fine videophiles would like to follow these written tutorials to create some nifty, narrated video versions from it. If not, then written text tutorials will have to do. ;)

Thank you Cave for taking the time to write this tutorials! I think that should clarify some open questions. And hopefully more users will see the advantages of both tools working together. :)

A new version is available for download in the top post!
Please update to this version and also to the string.pac from Future-Proof String v6.0 or later (also included with the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock Installer and \Data Editor 2k16\resources\UniversalAlternateAttireUnlock\pac\ folder in the .zip archive) to ensure that Attire 1-10 names are displayed properly going forward (changes had to be made as there were conflicts with some strings in the game).

Update Notes:

2016.05.04: VERSION 2016.0.5.4 Beta:
+ Resources: Added empty chunk_cache.bin fix, which fixes the WWE 2k16 crash on startup with mods installed.
+ Alternate Attire Unlocker: Updated the Attire Unlock to version 15.6.0 and updated the Alternate Attire Unlocker GUI backend to comply with the new Future-Proof String v6.0 and added the latter to the package. Please use the Future-Proof String v6.0 or later and version 2016.0.5.4 Beta or later of the Data Editor from now on.
+ Tools & Help: Added Championship Belt IDs, Arena IDs and Ring Type IDs to the "Match, Belt, Arena, Ring IDs" button to use with Pozzum's Match Select.
+ Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info, Downloads & Settings: Re-arranged the tab content to take up slightly less vertical space by splitting and creating "WWE 2k16 Game Tools" and "Data Editor Settings" sections and arranging them horizontally.
+ Data Editor Settings: Added the checkbox "Automatically Close the Data Editor when sending .pofo, .moveset or .team_info files to CCT. When this option is ticked, the Data Editor will save your work and close itself if you use the respective buttons to install files via CCT or if you launch CCT via the tools button. Leaving this box unticked (default) will keep the Data Editor running whenever you start CCT through it. The setting is saved upon exiting.
+ WWE 2k16 Game Tools: Created an installer for the empty chunk_cache.bin fix.
+ WWE 2k16 Game Tools: Added a button to launch the installer for the empty chunk_cache.bin fix.

The Data Editor Tutorials post has received a new Tutorial to fix the Game crash bug on startup by using the Data Editor to install the empty chunk_cache.bin Fix. This is meant for those that can't or don't want to fix it manually themselves.

@Cave, I finally had some time to sit down with your tool and give it some use. Pretty much all of the features that I've used so far seem to be working as advertised, which is awesome. However, when I tried to make some entrance changes through the "Advanced Entrance" section, a couple of strange things happened.

The initial goal was to change AJ Styles' entrance. I ticked the little box to enable "Advanced Entrance Enabled" and made some changes to two parts of his entrance. I set the Intro motion to "Baron Corbin," and under Lighting 1, I selected "Undertaker." No pyro or screen effects were selected. For the Stage portion of the intro, I picked Damien Mizdow 1 with Undertaker lighting. "Ramp, Ring-In and Ring" animations were all left at their default values.

Now, when I tried to test things out in game, the whole entrance was glitched. The lighting was not the Undertaker's and my wrestler wasn't visible on screen, but the camera was still panning around and following an "invisible superstar." In a way it was sort of amusing, because it totally reminded me of this :D

I rebooted my system and tried again, except this time, I tried using "Finn Balor Demon 2" as the Intro and Stage motion animations, both with Undertaker lighting. Again, no screen effects or pyro. Eager to try the new settings, I started.

As soon as the game loaded and things were set to begin, the camera panned back to a wide angle shot of the arena and stage and that was it. The game just sawft soft-locked at the beginning of what would have been the first entrance. I had to manually kill the game through Windows Task Manager.

I will continue playing around with things and let you know if I come across any other problems, oddities or glitches. Thanks again for all of your time and hard work putting this together. You have truly done a tremendous job with this app. :)

*snip*

Thank you for your report. Some of the entrance animations that simply aren't meant to be used in the Advanced Entrance Editor will cause such wierdness (although perhaps someone might find a way to fix them for advanced entrances down the line), even if just one of the parts uses such an animation. Also, some entrance animations appear to only work properly when the right character they are meant for is selected for some reason. You can use the animations that are also available for the Advanced Entrance to be safe, but some others do work as well, I haven't tested them much myself though.
