WORD OF WARNING - LATEST WWE 2K16 PC PATCH 1.01 WILL BREAK THE GAME

Hi people, I got home tonight from work to play some WWE 2K16 and loaded the game up it booted in my steam account to which I was a 300+mb file downloading and i thought great a patch for pc at last so it updated wwe 2k16 to 1.01 and proceeded to load WWE 2K16 and then on the Stone Cold Splash screen. I got the dreaded wwe 2k16 has stopped working i've tried 6 times now and same message everytime, Bannockburn thinks it may be to do with mods installed. So I'm putting this on here for anyone to read. Be careful with you're wwe 2k16 setup as the new update will break the game and stop it working.

And it better get sorted out really quickly I'm so pissed off right it's unreal!!!! I will never buy a 2k product again, the amount of money they get off of us and release a poxy patch that has three pointless issues apparently fixed in it and it breaks the entire game what the hell

In the span of two minutes I managed to finally get Sound Injector working, I noticed the game finally got a patch and finally read ehre that it breaks everything. Quite an eventful 120 seconds.

I have no mods installed at all, I'll report what happens when it is done

Looks like they doesnt even care for us, they don't worry test a patch before release it. I'm very pissed too...

Ok, patch downloaded, absolutely unmodded game, didn't even change titantrons or anything

The stupid Austin screen bug is gone, game loads fine now.

The yellow symbol of autosave is much more subdued, it doesn't flicker like crazy everytime I hover over anything anymore. Whether it's just a graphical thing or they fixed something about the saves I don't know.

Noticeable performance improvements during entrances, finally it doesn't go in the twenties everytime the lights are a little bit more colorful.

Sasuga 2k. I'd like to say "for once you didn't fuck up", but it'd be best "for once, you didn't fuck me up specifically"

 

So I guess modded content really is the problem?

Maybe the reason is because some modders do better models then they make

Luckily I read this before going on the game. It would be a stupid move for 2k to suddenly be against mods, as that is a huge selling point. Saying that, they have most of their sales now, so maybe this is the last WWE game we get one PC... Lets hope its just a temporary problem.

If they did it on purpose then yeah, WWE games on PC is dead, there won't be more and people won't buy them. Only reason I got it on PC was because of mods, I already had it on PS4 and honestly, I still use the PS4 version more.

Yeah, they are against mods now. For no reason other than possible financial/popularity loss. When they made the assets easily availble for modders in the first place. When they specifically said they support modding.

Turn off the alarm sensor guys. It's a faulty patch. They'll fix it. And the user takes all responsibility when modding in the first place. This is not an easily moddable platform like Gamebryo games. Finally, I've yet to find a game where the modding community doesn't have a huge "mods will probably stop working in case future official updates drop" sign.

You can blame 2k only until a certain point.

For me it didn't work, i deleted the game and i'm redownloading/installing it which i hope at least lets me start the game. So even after you get 1.01 installed properly you still can't use any mods atm?
