pozzum Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I love the tool. I think the entrance portion isn't functioning properly. Could've been me. When I set anyone's entrance to anything in game it defaults to Roman Reigns entrance with The Shield music and vid etc. That's not a big deal to me though as I can just adjust that stuff in game. The Name String portion is where I have a more interesting question. How can we know what each 4 letter string will give us? Is there a table? I put Kurt Angle's name to 8100 and that made his in game name "Leg Damage."http://bit.ly/PozzumStringThis link has the String information if you want to use a number you can search for it (across all sheets) and then replace that text if you use the HxD Method Quote

Cave Waverider Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) There hasn't been an update for a while, but I've been hard at work to improve the tool whenever I got a chance. It will take quite some time until the next public alpha build will be available, however. The good news is, I've finished the backend work for the Moves editor. The bad news is that I need to add a GUI box and label for each move type, which will take a long time, possibly weeks or even months, depending on how much time I find. It's a huge amount of work. Not hard, but it takes up lots of time. I've also added the ability to choose the default selected Attire for both My WWE and WWE Universe. Here is a teaser image for you:As you can see, the Standard actions editor is working already, the boxes are populated properly upon loading and it also writes the moves to the .moveset file correctly and all the jazz. There are lots more to go, however.Cheers for the patience! Edited September 20, 2015 by Cave Waverider 1 Quote

Aesthetics will be something I'll tackle after all the features are implemented and working correctly. This is still an alpha build, after all. Quote

Just wondering if I could help with the development as well.Right now, I could use some help splitting the moves data file into different files for the respective move types. I'm only using one big moves file for all at the moment, which allows assigning any move to any slot. While some may think this is a nice feature, it could very well lead to issues, especially with slots and animations that are meant for certain situations like ring-in/out, diving moves, ground moves, taunts etc.. Thus I want to split it so you can only assign moves that work in the respective slot. This requires a text editor and the game to lookup the moves and which category they belong to in the in-game moveset creator and lots of time and patience. Please send me a PM if you wish to help with that and I'll make the data file available for you.Otherwise you can help by testing the available version of the tool, trying to break it and posting a detailed bug report here. jakeypearce Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) Off the top of my head, I can think of one bug and that is the Super Heavyweight ability, the Ring Breaker, not being disabled. Another is that when I go to 'My WWE', to edit superstars, the wrestlers that had been created with the tool have their movesets changed to Roman Reigns even though I changed it prior. One more bug, and that is the unused entrance IDs seen in the basic entrance editor (344, 356, etc (the ones that were leftover from 2K14)) shouldn't be seen, as when I assigned The Rock (Retro) his ID from 2K14 (344), I was not able to change his entrance afterwards. What are the reproduction steps?when I go to 'My WWE', to edit superstars, the wrestlers that had been created with the tool have their movesets changed to Roman Reigns even though I changed it prior.Hm, odd. To understand correctly, you are making a moveset with the default template, which includes Roman Reigns' moveset. Then you go to the game and edit the moveset. Then you save it and in My WWE under Edit Superstars it still shows up as Romans?Does the wrestler still have Reigns' moveset even when playing an exhibition match or is it just a visual thing in Edit superstars? And what happens if you edit the moveset via My WWE->Edit Superstars? One more bug, and that is the unused entrance IDs seen in the basic entrance editor (344, 356, etc (the ones that were leftover from 2K14)) shouldn't be seen, as when I assigned The Rock (Retro) his ID from 2K14 (344), I was not able to change his entrance afterwards.I see. I left all the possible entrance IDs in just in case someone figures out how to add them with a mod people can choose them. I'll leave them in until getting closer to a release version for sure, and then I might do a checkbox to enable advanced options that when unticked hides all the stuff that could cause havoc on the game of an advanced user. Still need lots of tester feedback which options cause that havoc, thus I'll leave them in for now. After all, these builds are available to be tested so I can squash any bugs before releasing the final version. Those entrances that have a description next to the ID are ones that are actually in the game (although I haven't tested if they all work). If you set the entrance to any of those that aren't working in the game the entrance editor won't work. That's also the reason that if you unlock the NPCs that don't have an entrance file but have their entrance listed as their ID can't have their entrance edited unless you hex edit it to a working one. It's likely similar with other things, too. Quote

Also it might be that the moves have different IDs. Different Endinanness could be an issue, too (not sure what the consoles use). Perhaps that's the problem there and the files are simply incompatible. Does it work for you if you use any of the included templates in the template folder that comes with the tool or is there the same issue? As for the ring breaker not being disabled, that's part of the "incompatible settings" point in the Known Issues. I think the game might disable it for none heavyweights internally anyway, though (although I haven't really tested it). I'll add all the checks and error handling later on. The only issue is that they don't have any medium front/rear grapples and that since some moves were removed during the development (you can blame Mr. Marcus Stephenson for that!) they show up as 144, or 74. Is it possible to add those moves back in? The "Handstand" Ring Out is basically the running slide in, but reversed. Quote

Are the buttons missing all the time or are they there initially and only vanish if you do certain things?Which version of Java do you have installed? Is it the same or newer as the one mentioned in the readme file? There may be issues with some older versions. Also check if the path and classpath variables are set to the proper Java version, in case you happen to have multiple installed (or remains of an older version somewhere).Which Operating System and version do you have installed (run winver to see the exact version and build)?Which resolution are you running your desktop at? Do you have any DPI, display or font scaling enabled? If so, try to set DPI to 100% and see if that helps. Are you on a user or administrator account and do you have sufficient privileges to run and save files in the location the program is extracted to?If you hover your mouse over the area where the buttons are on the screenshots, can you still click them and/or do they appear?I also see some of the GUI elements on your screenshot are out of place and label text cut off. Does that also happen in other tabs of the GUI or any of the popup windows for the various move categories? If so, which ones and which elements?Thank you very much for the feedback! Quote

It seems to have to do with the DPI scaling. Try to set it to 100% (or "Smaller" in some Windows 8.1 settings) (Windows 8 and later seem to have a knack to set it to 125% or 150% on some 1920x1080 screens, especially HDTVs by default). Here is a guide on how to change DPI scaling settings for Windows 8. You'll have to restart windows after changing it. 1 Quote
jakeypearce Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 A suggestion to improve your tool would be to add winning animations. I hate it when the wrestlers .pofo and .moveset files all share the same generic winning animation. Is it possible to add it in? Also find if the winning animations from previous games are in as well. Thanks! Quote
