How to import/export models in Zbrush

Posted (edited)

1) import the .yobj file in 3ds max

2) make sure you select everything

3) export into a obj file ex. wrestler.obj

4) open zbrush and on the menubar select "tool"

5) click import and select the obj you created from 3ds max

6) after you finish your project just click export from the place you found the import button

7) Now the boring part, in 3ds max click import but change the setting to "import as a single mesh" and select each part of the object file at time individually (0000_0, 0000_1,etc) until the complete model is loaded in 3ds max.

8) Next import the original unmodded yobj model in the game (you will need it to fix the texture mapping of the new model).

9) Now select the two models excluding the bones and go to tools, then channel info from there you must copy the map information into the corresponding map info of the newly edited model part.

10) Once you get through all of that just export each part individually and import into your xrey model

11)Profit

Here are some zbrush tutorials also:

Same rules just with the hair yobj. My recommendation: Do the body and hair as two separate object files and then in zbrush, import the body first then duplicate the subtool and in the duplicate import the hair yobj that way when you edit one file it won't effect the other.
