brienj Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I didn't know where to post this, because there are no sections for these games, but I've been doing a lot of translations for some Japanese wrestling games since I quit working on WWE13. My latest is Wrestle Kingdom for Xbox 360. Here is the Facebook album to see all of them - http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.485282048174974.1073741825.323600111009836&type=1 And here are some previews, if you don't want to look at the whole album - But back to my original question, why no love for the Japanese wrestling games on Xbox 360 and PS2 and even the original Xbox, like The Wild Rings? 3 Quote
Twistedmisery666™ Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Some Japanese games are better then the American ones like koc 2 wrestle kingdom Quote
KREATIV Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Only wrestling game that I dont have, but looks great. Quote
OverTheEdge Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Can't say I've ever had the opportunity (or the means, to my knowledge) to play any of these, so it's cool just to see this stuff in general. Nice work on the translations so far. Glad to see things are coming along for you. Quote
Connor MacLeod Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 To be honest Wrestle Kingdom is the main reason i bought my RGH, so this is extremely awesome imo. I honestly a bigger fan of the japanese wrestling games, i even have a copy of the PS1 game "All Japan Pro Wrestling Womens" which is hard to find i have been told. Quote
GreenArcher Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Just out of curiosity, will this mod just convert the game to english? Or you'll be able to mod the textures and models as well? Quote

zhigge Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 This is why i hate they didnt' release part 2 on the 360 also. Part one was cool.. but part 2 was soooooooo much better.. Quote

Yep, it is a lot better. Wrestle Kingdom isn't too bad, and it certainly isn't my favorite wrestling game, but it is kind of fun to play once in a while. However, if I play a Wrestle Kingdom game, I'd much prefer Wrestle Kingdom 2, unless I feel like playing on my Xbox. Edited March 2, 2013 by brienj Quote
MarvstaX Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 To be perfectly honest, I didn't know the games existed otherwise I'd have got them.. Granted I never really looked though outside of EB Games, Gametraders etc Quote
brienj Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 I was pretty serious when I posted this. Not sure why you don't make a KOC2 section, or at least some Japanese Wrestling Video Game section. I can decompress the textures now, as well as translate KOC2, and have an archive extractor and rebuilder. Here are some sample textures from the game - Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 nice work I have heard of KOC2 but never got round to playing it.. Quote
Deleted Member Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Never played any myself but as others said these stills look impressive Quote
tich Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 translate the whole carreer mode and then I will maybe be impressed  Quote
Righteous Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) Definitely wish I could get this for 360... Edited March 11, 2013 by Righteous L. Jackson Quote

I would love figure out what we can do to eliminate the slowness of going thru the created mode? it took me 2 hours to make a kenta caw because of all the slowness? I tried to mode it a few a years ago but being that everything is in one big file i figured it was pointless.. I did find 2 hidden guys but got bored and left it alone. I'm going to start back working on all star pro wrestling 3 next tho.. i love that game almost as much as koc 2 and red/green Quote

My translator does read the full-archive though, I just haven't programmed it to edit the file though, and is best to wait until I can maybe make an extractor, it's much easier to deal with smaller files. I would do ASPW 3 hacks, but unfortunately, the game doesn't work in PCSX2 and I am not buying a PS2 to play one game, no matter how good it is, and also since KOC2 is more to my liking anyway. I haven't checked, but I'm sure I can find text to translate in the files of ASPW 3 as well, but like I said, without the ability to play it, I have little interest at the moment. I check PCSX2 forums all the time, to see if it finally works, and every thread that asks for help getting it to work always ends up getting locked, because the person who started it, brings up that they don't own the actual game, and just have an iso. brienj Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Other than spell and length checking, the KOC2 moves are 100% translated.   Quote

brienj Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 KOC2 is such a wonderful game, but I've always struggled with the language barrier to delve into it beyond exhibition matches. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result of your hard (and appreciated) work. That's exactly why I am doing it, other than doing it as a huge favor to Sac. I've always loved the game myself, but having to look at the FAQ every time I did anything other than just play a exhibition match gets really old quickly. I don't have the time to memorize everything or to learn Japanese. I hope by doing this, more people will try it out, because it really is worth playing, and has the best AI of any wrestling game ever made, as well as having a HUGE movelist, and a HUGE moveset. There are six clutch holds, from which you can do six different moves. That's a little over 30 moves possible that you can do, just from a front grapple (of course there are moves like the Irish Whip that are mapped to the front clutch, which you shouldn't change, and so it's not 36), but that is insane and blows away any other game. Then you have the COM Logic settings, which blow away any other wrestling game too. it's also not too hard, or not too easy as well, and it makes it challenging by not being cheap either. Overall, it's one of the best wrestling games ever made, but nobody knows, because they don't want to go through the hassle of the FAQ, and I really can't blame them, it is tough to always have to do that. zhigge Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 with a purchase of dare i say it wrestlemania the arcade game for the ps2 and royal pro wrestling for my 3do over the weekend i now owner of every wrestling game ever made english/japanese/mexican... from the nes, to 3do, to current systems... so i'm super excited.. Very hard and expensive search.. i got koc2 at launch and still play it and aspw3.. i have the actual cd for aspw 3? but what difference would that make if you have the iso? I so wish they would have did a koc3 and aspw4.. they games are good but they lack one of two things that make you play the other to get. if they were combined we'd have the ultimate puro game..dreams. brienj Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 Still no section for the games, maybe if I post this, it will help get a section. Good old American wrestling ring hack for KOC2 - Quote
