Heart Breaker Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 God, I just heard this not even about 10 minutes ago.. So I'm kind of emotional. But I figured you guys would help me like you always do... A friend of mine, Cory... I sat with him all the time. I talked to him. He was an acquaintance, but one that I admired and respected. We always got along. He always had something to say and we always laughed during our conversation. Well... As you can see by the title. He passed away. He was only seventeen. He drowned in a pool. I don't know if he broke his legs, hit his head, or what... But I know he drowned. And he unfortunately died while underwater. His away message is on his screen name and it's so chilling to look at it and know he's gone. I'm going to try and find a picture of him and show you guys what he looked like. He was only seventeen! That's too young! I'm only that young and I haven't even imagined dying so young! Please, keep his family in your thoughts if you could. He was an amazing friend... R.I.P. Cory... 1988-2005 I ended up finding a picture... He's the one with the long black hair in the front.

talksick Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 That is really sad to hear. I know when my mother died my best friend is the one that kept me from snapping. I don't know what I would do if my friend died. I hope you can mourn but still keep your head on straight. Dont fall apart. RIP to your friend.
Tychoma Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 I can't imagine how that would affect you and your other friends, it's such a huge loss. I don't really like saying RIP, it seems a bit morbid- I just give you my best wishes.

Heart Breaker Posted May 12, 2005 Author Posted May 12, 2005 Thanks alot guys for all of the best wishes... I'm about to leave for school soon. They are sending us counselors to talk to us about it. It's going to be pretty emotional. I just hope they don't make it one of those "You need to learn God! And don't do drugs!" speeches.
Eat A Vegan Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Sorry to hear about your loss HB, I had a friend who died about a year and a half ago. If you want to talk about hit you can send me a pm
scoot Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 i hate this sort of thing im no good with loss of friends R.I.P
Heart Breaker Posted May 12, 2005 Author Posted May 12, 2005 I just realized I made a mistake from the topic. I was so emotional, I probably wasn't thinking. He drowned in a river near by. Not a pool. He had asthma. He also smoked. That's not a good mix when you put them together. He was swimming in the river and he apparently lost his breath and couldn't move. He suddenly went under water. My friend, Jay, tried reaching for him but he couldn't get him in time. The current of the river then pushed Cory away from where he was. So the E.M.T.'s didn't know where he was. They searched for literally an hour. Cory was underwater for an hour... They finally found him, and he was rushed into an ambulance, and announced dead right afterwards. It's still emotional. I got out of class today from being so close to Cory. I immediately skipped first and second period. Then I just left school as soon as third period started. (We have 4 periods, classes, during our semester.) So I'm home now. Away from school. It was to emotional being there. Thinking of him hurts me more and more. Also, thank you guys so much for helping me out. I've known you all for quite awhile sometime and I consider you all friends. (It might sound pathetic, but it's true.) Thanks so much for the support. I'll keep you updated on the situation if anything else occurs.
d-Block Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I don't know what to tell ya. Been a rough few years for you. Either way, keep your head up (NOTE: I had two jokes in mind that may not of been horrible, but better judgement took over)
LiLFLiP Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Wow man...I'm sorry... What does his away message say? Just out of curiosity...
Heart Breaker Posted May 12, 2005 Author Posted May 12, 2005 It's actually his idle message. It says... "I am online, but may be away from AOL right now." Thanks for your concerns Don, and Flip.
tokidoim Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 I feel for you, Little Raven. Best wishes to you, all his friends and family. Keep your chin up. nosig
