WWE SVR 2010 (PS2) - Roster mod RELEASED (new - V. 2.0)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello everyone,

this is VERSION 2.0 of my PS2 roster mod for SVR 2010. It's a massive roster, from Svr 2006 to Svr 2011, plus a coulple of extras!!!

Some other info:

Quote

- My previous version (V.1.0) lacked wrestlers from Svr 09 and 2011, but this time i was able to import (almost) every guy from those games. Yes, "guys"... the divas roster is still the vanilla svr 2010.

- Some wrestlers with multiple gimmicks/characters have been put together in one single slots, using alternative attires. So, Hogan 80s has Modern Hogan and nWo Hogan as alt.attires, for example.

-  Missing wrestlers: Jimmy Hart (i had to sacrifice someone, and he's just a manager), sgt Slaughter (psp exclusive, i wasn't able to import his model from HCTP), Zack Ryder 2009.

- All NPC and extra characters removed (Doctor, Todd grisham, red, green etc...). I've also removed all the NPC announcers (JR, Cole etc...), but you can still see them on the commentary table in-game

- While movesets are NOT accurate (taunt, grapples, strikes etc...), every wrestler has (mostly) accurate signature and finishers. It's not perfect, but i had to re-import all movesets one by one, since there were many bugs in V 1.0

- Arenas are still the vanilla ones from Svr 2010

- The base game is Svr 2010 (NTCS - PS2). You just need to replace the files in the original NTCS iso with the one in the PS2 folder (except the ones in "SAVEFILE") and rebuild the iso.

- To unlock everything, either load the savefile (the .ps2 file) or play without savefile but load the cheat code (.pnach). If you use the cheat code, save the game (with everything unlocked) and then REMOVE the code, otherwise the difficulty will always remain stuck on "NORMAL". Once you reload the game without the code, everything should be unlocked and you can set the difficulty again...

Hi, I have  a few questions.

1. How do I replace the files?

2. How do I rebuild the ISO?

I would like to play and upload videos of this. It's really cool.

Hi,

those are the steps i used to rebuild the iso:

- Find the NTCS (usa) game in ISO format. I can't tell you where to get it.

- download the mod and extract it in a folder

- download and install a program to rebuild the iso. I use IMGburn (it's an "oldie" but still works pretty well).

- open the NTCS ISO with an extraction program (winrar, zip etc,) and create a new folder with all the game files inside. I called it "Svr10"

- Now that you have the "Svr10" folder, replace the following files with those from the mod:

a) copy and paste the MODDED Ch.pac, Ch2.pac, Ch3.pac, Chetc.pac inside the Svr10/PAC/CH folder

b) copy and paste the MODDED Misc.pac inside Svr10/PAC folder

c) copy and paste the MODDED Plistps2.arc inside the Svr10 folder

- Now, open IMGburn, and select "Create image file from files/folders"

- Go to an icon that says "Browse for a folder", and select the whole folder ("Svr10"), then press "Build" at the bottom of the screen. Follow the procedure and you'll have the new iso. Call it a new name if you want, to avoid confusion (like "Svr10mod.iso")

- Just to be sure, open and check the new iso. The first thing you should see are 5 folders (BIN, MOVIE, PAC, SOUND, TM2) and 3 files (Plistps2.arc, Slus219.01 and system.cnf). If there are other files and/or folder, the iso won't start. This happened to me once, i messed up and IMGburn copied the whole folder (Svr10) into the iso, instead of the above files/folders ONLY.

- once you have the new (modded) iso, you can play it with PCSX2. Use the cheat code (.pnach) or the savefile (wwe10.ps2) to unlock have all the roster in the correct order, otherwise there will be missing wrestlers.

I hope this guide my help, let me know if you need something else (or if you find some bug i may have missed).

One more question, does Story Designer work perfectly fine?

I didn't try every single imported model, but i did some test in Story Designer with random models, and they worked fine.

Ok, I installed the game and it works.

One issue I found was titles on imported superstars.

The championship is not around their waist but it's sticking out of their rear end.

I'm glad something like this was created, I can create countless stories with the 137 superstars to choose from.

I wish the wrestlers had their trons, themes, entrance motions and renders but I can ignore that.

Thank you for making this. I wish some of the models from SvR 2009 were included though.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for you to make this?

this was a simple passion project for me, so it took a while, including trials and errors and "false starts" (messing the mod beyond repair, and having to start from scratch). Once i got everything in order, it took almost two weeks to complete this version, because i only worked on it in my free time.

The biggest challenge was finding all the right tools and answers, since the modding scene of SVR 2010 is very old and poorly preserved. Useful posts have been deletet, links have stopped working ecc ecc... even something like the belt clipping you mentioned: i KNOW i've read about this issue somewhere, but google doesn't give me a straight answer, and old forum are sadly offline.

This is the reason why i consider my mod just a funny hobby, and if someone wants to help me fix it (or use it as a base for some other mod), i have no problem with that, just a quick mention is enough.

Now, for the SVR 2009 models, as i said in the OP, i ran out of nomodel slots. They simply don't work, and i don't know why. Maybe there's a simple explanation, but i wasn't able to find it anywhere. One works fine, the other loads endlessly.

So, i have three options:

1) right now, I made some guys like ABA Taker, the three faces of Foley and Masked Kane into separate slots than regular Taker, Foley and Kane, but if i simply move them as alt. attire for the regular wrestlers, i can use the (now empty) slots for some SVR 09 models. But then, you'll lose the ability to plays gimmick vs gimmick (like Kane vs Masked Kane) and you won't be able to assign different moveset and entrances to different gimmicks.

2) i can replace NPC (JR, michael cole, doctor, lilian garcia ecc...) and red/green with 09 models. i "think" there's a way to have NPCs like JR both on the commentary table (as JR himself) and as a wrestler (as, say, Big daddy V), but it will be a bit of a mess, expecially in create-a-story.

3) remove ALL the divas (13 slots in total + alt.attires). This will unlock tons of free space not only for SVR09 guys, but also for adding past alt. attires... but i can see why someone myght not be interested in this kind of mod.

Right now i'm not really working on it, but if i can find some answer to the nomodel slots "problem", i may think about a V2 in the future...

Thanks and sorry about the belt clipping complaint, I found a workaround a remembered that there are several championship entrances from superstars and generic championship motions. I'm going to make some Road to Wrestlemania stories with from this version of the game.

Hi. SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 is working by playing as available characters, like Triple H, Chris Jericho, etc, but once I play as the new additional characters, and when I start the match, the game gets stuck. Can I order you help, please? Thank you.

Is this the full version or are you going to also add arenas from previous games?

I really don't know, since this is just an hobby for me.

i'm currently working on a PSP version similar to this one, but with more wrestlers and maybe (if i can fix all the bugs) also with some replaced arena... but since Svr10 lacks a lot of the "plug-n-play" tools made for Svr11, sometimes things are a bit more complicated and it take so much time to mod things. Plus, i'm still learning a lot, and some things are just way beyond my level...

If i release the next version of this mod, i was thinking about replacing every "divas" in the game to free around 10 to 15 character slots. This would allow me to import almost every male superstar from 06-2011, including managers (like Paul Bearer and bischoff), more legends (like Snuka and Steamboat), more tags (like the Hart Dinasty) and some alternative costume (tony, masked man, etc...).

but I know, removing divas may not be a popular opinion for some people, so i'm not sure if a "diva-less" 2.0 version is really worth the effort...

Hey Trex could you pass me the svr10 editor from NikeTheBike? On his tread I tried to use his link but obviously doesn't work anymore because is from a old forum.. Also thanks for your mod, I think it mostly works fine, leaving behind stupid bugs from belts on entrances and other funny minor cpu bugs, that in my case I don't care.

1) the NikeTheBike editor is still stored on the original website. The site is offline, but by using wayback machine, you can still open the link of the "version 24" of the editor. I believe v25 is the latest, but V24 worked ok for me...

WARNING: i take no responsability for eventual pop-up/bugs/viruses while using this link. Always be careful, and scan those old downloads, before opening it...

https://web.archive.org/web/20210830141208/www.svr2010.rr.nu/svredit/svredit_v24.zip

2) i believe the odd CPU bugs are related to the "import moveset" feature. Basically, NikeTheBike editor comes with some custom pre-made moveset that you can import into NoModels to speed up the creation process. Most of them are fine, but some have hacked moves in the wrong place (like a pin instead of a grapple) or other minor bugs, and this lead the CPU to behave in some odd way, sometimes. When i made my other (PSP) version, i imported moveset from the "vanilla" wrestlers only, and the odd behaviours were far less common. So, if you're playing my Ps2 V1.0 and you see a wrestler acting strange (like, for example, Booker T), just go to create-a-moveset and copy the full moveset from another standard wrestler (like R-truth). This should stop the odd behaviour, but unfortunately you have to set his taunt/sig/finishers again...

3) i'm actually looking into a V2 of this mod. Maven (from 06 beta) was the first i've tried and it worked, so now I believe i can also squeeze most of the 09 and 11 roster in (at the cost of the extra characters like Red, Green, doctor etc...).

Discovered this searching for mods for SVR 2011 actually, and I've been playing it for several hours now. Really enjoying it so far! I return to this game a lot and it's very cool to have a version that adds so many characters. I'm in no position to make requests and don't know if you're taking them, but I was wondering how likely it would be to see alternate attires for guys like Jeff Hardy, like his 08 model without paint or Matt's 08 model with pants? Not sure what your long term plans are but this has been a ton of fun to go through so far for me.

Posted

Having read the intro message a bit more thoroughly, I see now the reason why alt attires are limited. I've noticed some of the overalls are off (i.e. Sandman is crazy high at a 96 overall) but I assume that has something to do with the same tool that caused the deleted moves in move sets?

Hello, good day! do you perhaps still have the tutorial links to import Wrestlers on empty slots? I have experience in modding 2k16,17,19 and 22 using cct, cheat engine, pac editor and x packer. And like you it's kinda of a hobby and for my personal use. I wanna try my hands on svr 2011 for ps2 but I can't find results on google about importing to empty slots. Maybe the keyword I used is wrong? Maybe you or someone here can point me in the right direction? Many thanks!

I managed to figure this one out. I followed everything on very limited tutorials I could find,I finally managed to import Jeff Hardy on a nomodel slot but in the end after doing the final step, which is the save editor one to enbale his slot and details (or pofo in 2k games) I got hit with the "save file is corrupted" problem. Hopefully someone knows how to fix this one or poin me to the right direction. Many thanks!

ok so I ALSO managed to figure this one out lol. You need a cheat file to bypass the save file check but it's for the pal version so I just switched to that rom,I bought my ntsc one anyways. Now if possible ,do you still have a list of to what slots you installed every wrestler to? I'd like to replace some of them with divas. Many thanks!
