SVR 2010 (Ps2) - Roster mod RELEASED (V 1.0)

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello everyone,

I've added all the male Svr06, Svr07 and Svr08 superstars into Svr2010 (Ps2) thanks to the Svr Roster Editor from NikeTheBike.

THE MOD IS COMPLETED (AT LEAST V.01) AND YOU CAN FIND THE LINK BELOW!

A brief intro from my older post:

This kind of "all-in one" mod has already been made in the past, but because the Svr modding scene is so old and mostly focused on Svr 2011 nowadays, most (if not all) of the Svr10 Ps2 links expired long time ago. So, while I'm not a professional modder (nor i care to became one), Svr 2010 was one of my favourite games on PS2, and i decided to rebuild those Roster Mod from scratch, importing the old models one pac after another. And now, since i had fun doing this (it is an hobby, after all), i tought... why not sharing it?

Let me repeat that this is not a full-blown project like "WWF Legends" or "TNA Wrestling Matters", you won't find many things that those mods have (like sculpted wrestler, new music and trons, new arenas, imported animations etc...). Those modders are incredibles, and WAY above my level. This is litterally just the 06-07-08 models imported into 2010, with correct names, some moves and stats/attributes (not always fixed). But it's something i wanted to play for years, and i feel people around here may also be interested, after all.

And one last thing: feel free to do whatever you want with this files. Mod it, change it, i don't care. If you want to fix a bug or improve it, go for it!

Some FAQs:

Quote

- base game: Svr 2010 (NTCS - PS2)
- Svr 06, Svr 07 and Svr 08 male roster and male legends added
- Playable NPC unlocked: Tazz (suits+07 model), Lawler (suits+07 model) and Shane (suits+08 model).
- Hidden moves and taunt in some moveset (Hogan and benoit, mostly).
- Tested on Pcsx2 (PC) and AetherSX2 (android) in single and multi-man matches, but not in special matches (like Rumble and EC)

- replace the files in the original NTCS iso with the one in the PS2 folder (except the ones in "SAVEFILE") and rebuild the iso.

- To unlock everything, either load the savefile (folder or .ps2 file) or play without savefile but load the cheat code (.pnach). With the savefile, you get fixed movesets and a few correct entrances. Using cheat code without savefile, you shoud really edit every moveset and removed the hacked/locked moves (there are some bugged one that may freeze the game, unfortunately)

also:
- NO imported Divas from 06/07/08
- NO imported Svr 2009 roster (but most of them are also in Svr 10. The one missing are The EdgeHead, chuck palumbo, Jimmy Wang Yang, Big daddy V and the odd extras like zombie santino and finlay, masked man, tony ecc...)
- NO duplicate imports (eg: carlito and chavo are already in Svr 10, so i didn't imported them again), unless there's a big gimmick change (es:Morrison/Nitro) or if i really wanted some alternative attires like orton legend killer or Y2J with long hair.

Why not Divas or 09 roster: The biggest problem to me was... space! A huge chunk of NoModel slots didn't work and freezed on booth, so i quickly ran out of free space to add more wrestlers and costume. This is the reason why there are no new divas, no 09 roster and very few alt.attires, since the only alternative was to replace lower card wrestlers from 2010, and i didn't like it. I also tried to import the exclusive Svr 06 beta roster (bald hogan, maven, alt. Cena attires ecc...), but they only seems to work in entrances and they freeze in-game. Go figure...

Hi, I have  a few questions.

1. How do I replace the files?

2. How do I rebuild the ISO?

I would like to play and upload videos of this. It's really cool.

Hi,

those are the steps i used to rebuild the iso:

- Find the NTCS (usa) game in ISO format. I can't tell you where to get it.

- download the mod and extract it in a folder

- download and install a program to rebuild the iso. I use IMGburn (it's an "oldie" but still works pretty well).

- open the NTCS ISO with an extraction program (winrar, zip etc,) and create a new folder with all the game files inside. I called it "Svr10"

- Now that you have the "Svr10" folder, replace the following files with those from the mod:

a) copy and paste the MODDED Ch.pac, Ch2.pac, Ch3.pac, Chetc.pac inside the Svr10/PAC/CH folder

b) copy and paste the MODDED Misc.pac inside Svr10/PAC folder

c) copy and paste the MODDED Plistps2.arc inside the Svr10 folder

- Now, open IMGburn, and select "Create image file from files/folders"

- Go to an icon that says "Browse for a folder", and select the whole folder ("Svr10"), then press "Build" at the bottom of the screen. Follow the procedure and you'll have the new iso. Call it a new name if you want, to avoid confusion (like "Svr10mod.iso")

- Just to be sure, open and check the new iso. The first thing you should see are 5 folders (BIN, MOVIE, PAC, SOUND, TM2) and 3 files (Plistps2.arc, Slus219.01 and system.cnf). If there are other files and/or folder, the iso won't start. This happened to me once, i messed up and IMGburn copied the whole folder (Svr10) into the iso, instead of the above files/folders ONLY.

- once you have the new (modded) iso, you can play it with PCSX2. Use the cheat code (.pnach) or the savefile (wwe10.ps2) to unlock have all the roster in the correct order, otherwise there will be missing wrestlers.

I hope this guide my help, let me know if you need something else (or if you find some bug i may have missed).

One more question, does Story Designer work perfectly fine?

I didn't try every single imported model, but i did some test in Story Designer with random models, and they worked fine.

Ok, I installed the game and it works.

One issue I found was titles on imported superstars.

The championship is not around their waist but it's sticking out of their rear end.

I'm glad something like this was created, I can create countless stories with the 137 superstars to choose from.

I wish the wrestlers had their trons, themes, entrance motions and renders but I can ignore that.

Thank you for making this. I wish some of the models from SvR 2009 were included though.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for you to make this?

this was a simple passion project for me, so it took a while, including trials and errors and "false starts" (messing the mod beyond repair, and having to start from scratch). Once i got everything in order, it took almost two weeks to complete this version, because i only worked on it in my free time.

The biggest challenge was finding all the right tools and answers, since the modding scene of SVR 2010 is very old and poorly preserved. Useful posts have been deletet, links have stopped working ecc ecc... even something like the belt clipping you mentioned: i KNOW i've read about this issue somewhere, but google doesn't give me a straight answer, and old forum are sadly offline.

This is the reason why i consider my mod just a funny hobby, and if someone wants to help me fix it (or use it as a base for some other mod), i have no problem with that, just a quick mention is enough.

Now, for the SVR 2009 models, as i said in the OP, i ran out of nomodel slots. They simply don't work, and i don't know why. Maybe there's a simple explanation, but i wasn't able to find it anywhere. One works fine, the other loads endlessly.

So, i have three options:

1) right now, I made some guys like ABA Taker, the three faces of Foley and Masked Kane into separate slots than regular Taker, Foley and Kane, but if i simply move them as alt. attire for the regular wrestlers, i can use the (now empty) slots for some SVR 09 models. But then, you'll lose the ability to plays gimmick vs gimmick (like Kane vs Masked Kane) and you won't be able to assign different moveset and entrances to different gimmicks.

2) i can replace NPC (JR, michael cole, doctor, lilian garcia ecc...) and red/green with 09 models. i "think" there's a way to have NPCs like JR both on the commentary table (as JR himself) and as a wrestler (as, say, Big daddy V), but it will be a bit of a mess, expecially in create-a-story.

3) remove ALL the divas (13 slots in total + alt.attires). This will unlock tons of free space not only for SVR09 guys, but also for adding past alt. attires... but i can see why someone myght not be interested in this kind of mod.

Right now i'm not really working on it, but if i can find some answer to the nomodel slots "problem", i may think about a V2 in the future...

Thanks and sorry about the belt clipping complaint, I found a workaround a remembered that there are several championship entrances from superstars and generic championship motions. I'm going to make some Road to Wrestlemania stories with from this version of the game.
