Remove ring steps

Hi all, I'm looking to remove the ring steps from some of my arenas (mostly ECW ones) and just wondering how I might do that!

I was under the impression that editing the misc04_arena.pac file so that "stairs" was -1 would do it, but it doesn't seem to make a difference
