How do I go about removing Rey Mysterio mask?

Im trying to remove the 97 Rey mask to make a wcw version of him. I thought maybe by doing the Myrise trick I could remove it but that didnt work I know Status has a version on CC but I want to add hair and a face texture to it and I cant do that with his version not on xbox atleast.
