Menu Textures / Modding in PS4 Control Layout for Steam Remote Play Togehter, which defaults to XBOX

Last year me and a friend who lives across the country put hundreds of hours into WWE, but it was brutal for him because no matter how correctly we had his controller set via steam (set it as PS4, Set it as Xbox, tried in Big Picture, DS4, etc, tried in normal, dozens of hours of troubleshooting), No matter what when you used Steam Remote Play Together, his (connecting to my pc) controller would always show up as Xbox buttons rather than PS4, which both of us use. PS4 icons show for me, the host, but not for him. Obviously in things like reversal situations, submission mini games, etc, this makes his life miserable.

 

I was last year going to try to see if I could find the textures for Xbox buttons and simply replace them with PS4, since none of my friends use Xbox controllers anyway, but our interest faded.

Is this going to be something that is possible, and if so, when will this be achievable (tools for this year, etc). I've seen tutorials for more advanced things like face textures, but not something I feel is likely more simple like a menu icon.

Goal : Mod the Xbox Buttons layout textures to be PS4 so when my friend connects via Steams "Remote Play Together" feature, he doesn't get fed Xbox control layout, which Remote Play seems to default to.

Or I guess if someone has some miraculous way to fix steam "Remote Play Together" saying he has an Xbox controller when we feel we have tried everything.

try this.  I did this on my pc cause i play with playstation controller and it helped. Just like your friend i was fed up with xbox layout i kept getting some buttoms confuse

Tried it exactly that way and still doesn't seem to work. The dumb thing is, it seems to show the PS4 controller icon even in steam on the friends list, but still in game its XBOX (mine is fine though, showing PS4). Its like no matter what if its remote play, it goes to Xbox layout.
