Rebuilding my modded game from vanilla - Some Arena Questions

Hey everyone,  So I want to rebuild my modded game from scratch, just to cut the fat out, type thing.

Is there a list of basic must have mods for you?

I was wondering if I could bypass the Unpacked Arena GFX and 2k15-2k18 Arena Port mods and still mod in the arenas I wanted. 

I'll be installing the ones I want over the arenas in the game, since I won't be using the NXT arenas.

Would it be possible for me to still have custom arenas and show GFX without those mods?

I think it's doable since the Unpacked Arena GFX makes it easy to install arenas and GFX only (it saves you from going to every "Itag_" which is a real headache when you're looking for a particular block if you don't know it).

I'm having a hard time myself installing GFX arenas on various files like: Spark_01 for example.

The other pack unlocks additional arenas only. So yes I think you can. But you will definitely be limited. I'm not an expert on that, but it makes sense to me.
