Reducing uncompressed file size

Hi there again,

I'm unpacking files using rePac but I noticed that everytime I uncompressed them, they have twice or higher the size that the original file. This happens especially while working with modded content/textures. Is there a way to reduce this size? If it was me who caused the increase of size by editing anything that I can understand. However, they are that big as soon as I uncompress.
