Confusion with save

I have two versions of the game, one is steam that is on 1.10 and 2nd is a different one 1.05 for mods and cheat engine stuff.
Now when i launch different version of the game which is at 1.05, it automatically starts with steam version and currupt my steam save and i had to start all over again.  how to keep both of them separate, so they wont contradict?
