Chillalex Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Been messing around recently and found some cool stuff. Firstly, I can work around the Gear Point system and have four capes, using a total of 40 points instead of the 8 point limit. Darth Vader, anyone? Secondly, using values im not meant to has made body parts disappear. So, you can delete a persons torso and have like, a skeleton visible (thats made up of gear.) Ive also managed to get paint tool logos on tights Unfortunately, I still have to do some work. Ive forced it to stop repeating, but this causes it to stretch the whole logo. The solution is merely to find the size addresses for the logo, and hopefully these do exist. Ill keep you posted. However, I can still do stuff like barbed wire tights, If i desire. Theyre easy Best of all though, You CAN apply logos to gear! I just had a CANNIBAL CORPSE Logo plastered all over Darth Vaders mask. Again, this needs work, and HOPEFULLY theres a way to stop them from repeating (there should be. There shouldnt be any address to specify what logo is applied to gear, which lead me to believe that every "layer" has a set area of addresses; That is theyre all the same only some are blocked out. Its just a case of working with what I have at the moment and figuring out offsets.) In my opinion, with a little bit of work, this should make DOR's CAW mode the most customisable around. Its like attire hacking for NM, only, you can draw your own. Cant be bad. Ill have pics up in a bit of what Ive done, and then sometime this week I'll put up a guide on how to do it yourself (unfortunately, its kind of long winded, as it has to be Paint tool-slot specific, and CAW Slot specific. You can still do anything you want, but you have to make sure you know what slot the logo is in that you wanna apply, and apply it to the slot that your CAW is in that you wanna apply it to. Better than a kick in the teeth though.) Basically toki, find that offset and I can do all this for NTSC, too.
tokidoim Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 AAARGH!!!! I mostly play with all CAWs, too! MOVE TO AMERICA, MOTHERFUCKER!!!! Still working on the offset. Like I said, it could still be a while, though. Do you know of anyone in the NTSC region who is hacking? If there's labels or something quick to search for to find these addys, they could probably do it during an overnight rental, right? nosig
Chillalex Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 Yeah. There arent labels so to speak, but the amount of values I have for movelists, It could be done in like one 5 minute session. Alls thats needed is one offset. I dont know anyone, but I'll ask on GScentral. Unfortunately I dont think anyone there has it and is willing to hack. Whats the Inf attributes code for NTSC when decrypted? From what I hear it only works on CAW1, which sounds alot like where Im looking...
tokidoim Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 That's kind of what I thought when I read that post that says it only effects CAW 1. I havent actually checked to see if the NTSC version is the one that effects only CAW 1, though, but that is one of the few codes that are not identical in HEX for both regions. NTSC 042A884C 60000000 00000000 8493A6D4 000F423F 001005FE PAL 042A92C4 60000000 029595B4 000F423F nosig
Chillalex Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 thats it, thatll provide the offset. The NTSC one looks like a fill and slide, whereas the PAL one is just a simple 16 bit write to one slot. 0093A6D4- NTSC 009595B4- PAL I havent got windows calc on here, but if you find the difference between them, that SHOULD leave you with the offset. Then just use it on one of my caw mods.
Chillalex Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 dude! offset the mother! It works on all because its a slide and fill...
tokidoim Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 :eek !!!! SUCK CESS!!! Stone cold stunner as weak grapple A on CAW 1!!!! Good work Mr. Overkill! Too bad you taught me the slide and fill format after I was comparing the region's codes for an offset...we coulda had this last week. FORMULA : PAL Address -1EEE0 = NTSC Address So, have you fixed the move value portion of your CAW tool yet? nosig
Chillalex Posted October 24, 2004 Author Posted October 24, 2004 (edited) um whats wrong with it? I thought it worked fine...? explain yuself. ah, TEST'D the online version and i can see how thats fucked, but the zip files fine so far as I know? Edited October 24, 2004 by Chillalex
tokidoim Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Actually, all the files seem to be there individually, but when you try to bring them up in the main program, it says "File cannot be found, check location and try again" Mebby you specified a folder location that's only for your computer and not for the proper directory. The move addy htmls pop up just fine. nosig
the enforcer Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Great work you guys. I've tested most of the move modifiers with the NTSC conversion and they do work. Thanks for your efforts.......
tokidoim Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 I'm getting ready to test out a bunch of move mods during commercials on RAW tonigh. I'm going to test out moves in the wrong type slots to see if we can get running moves as standing moves, ground moves from standing, aerial moves as ground strikes, double-team moves as normal grapples, etc. Should be interesting. And you can just thank Alex. I'm his bitch. nosig
Chillalex Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 (edited) Thanks, its not a problem (either of ya) Im just glad some people ARE using my stuff, which I spent a deal of time doing. As this is the case, I feel better about bothering with what I've just been doing; A Logo Melee. Heres pix. Custom Barbed Wire Tights Custom Barbed Wire Tights Hogan CAW Bandana Logo'd! See, the Hogan CAW may not seem like anything so special, but keep this in mind: The boa is made of Three gears, which are hair pieces. I think theyre 2 points each or something. These three all have a red and yellow logo attatched to them, to create his boa. (I find actually that the pony tail extension is even better for this, cuz its weighted and moves realistically. Ill try and take an ani). Also Ive added the bandanna, which is 4 Points i think (either way, the whole set of 4 gears comes to more than 8 points), and again, Ive added the "HULK STILL RULES" logo to it. BONUS. The trousers, rather than being camo, are again, a paint tool logo which i quickly threw together for hulks Tie dye. Sorry the face is shit, but i stole the CAW off someone else. I think thats about it. Cliffs: Added more than normal for his gear Added custom pattern to tights Added Logo to bandanna and hair And two diversions, Showing Logos on capes, and for all intents and purposes, Infinite Gear Points. Edit: Also on the hogan front, I know the yellow/red divide on the boa is clear cut, so no bitchin, it took like 1 min to draw up the logo. Its just to show the possibilitys. Also, this stuff will be released in about a week or so in a rerelease of the CAW Tool. Im working as hard as I can on it, and ive got the basics down. Unfortunately, Ive gotta convert everything to NTSC as well, so its a double workload, and im lookin at possibly (dependin on if i do anythin thurs) doing all 16 CAWs for PAL at least, so you dont have to add offsets yourself. We'll see. Oh, and the move list area has been updated, Ive added in the 50 or so missing moves, so now its complete, and Ill add in superstar support in this version, too. Or try to Edited October 26, 2004 by Chillalex
wdrewjr Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Great job! What with your working around the gear point limitations, I was wondering if you have been able to use both arm tassles (5 points each) at the same time, in order to make the Ultimate Warrior? Thanks!
Chillalex Posted October 27, 2004 Author Posted October 27, 2004 Yea. Properly coloured, too, if i wanted
tokidoim Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 I assume you're still limited to 4 slots for gear... Hey, did you ever get a complete listing of move values? If so, I could prolly find some time to update your CAW Tool pages with the unlockables. Bubba. nosig
Chillalex Posted October 27, 2004 Author Posted October 27, 2004 The tools having a complete rework on it right now. Ive added this stuff (gear, patterns etc), and yeah, i got the remaining 40 something values and theyve been added to the list. All values are done, but now I gotta convert from PAL to NTSC, and decide if ive time to further translate 16 slots for each version. Hmmm..
vizzitor Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 I have a couple of questions. Long time lurker, first time poster here. 1. Is there any way to put the in-game people's attire on any CAW? 2. Is it possible to make your CAW enter with any in-game character's entrance attire? 3. I wouldn't count on it but can you make the Hogan's entrance taunt with the shirt-ripping animation actually rip a shirt? Thanks.
Chillalex Posted October 27, 2004 Author Posted October 27, 2004 (edited) All 3 are a no, I think. The hogan shirt, for sure no, because the game is slow updating CAW Pieces, and i never delved in to the mechanics of bra and panties. The first 2 id have said were possible, but when I tried an offset to see what "pieces" ingame characters were wearing, it came up blank and I wouldnt have a clue what else to do. Weird! Sorry Edit for all you halloween kiddies- Edited October 27, 2004 by Chillalex
vizzitor Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 That's a pity. I suppose the entrance models for the in-game characters are completely different than the wrestling ones or something. Thanks anyway.
