Rschmitt7926 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Is there a way to make the load times any faster when using mods? My computer normally takes 6-8 minutes to load the game. Quote
Pepsiguy2 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Sadly, nope! That's the terrible part of Yukes' coding. When you empty the Chunk0.arc file (which is necessary for modding), it loses all the pre-set "memory" of the game's files. So when you launch the game and you get that 10 minute load time, It's rewriting that dictionary list of files to put in your RAM. It's unavoidable. Shit was left over from the Ps2 era. One of the plenty reasons I switched to modding 2K20, as that chunk shit doesn't exist. Quote
Cave Waverider Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Indeed. Unfortunately, the only way you can speed up the process is with faster hardware. Installing the game (and OS) on a fast SSD will make the biggest difference, followed by faster RAM and video card. Your CPU must be fast enough to be able to handle all that as well, of course. noobmodder Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 (edited) My 2 cents on it: 1. I agree with Cave Waverider: Faster Hardrive SSD (if possible M2), better CPU and RAM always helps. 2. If we talk about suggesting games, I still would suggest to stick with 2k19. It's loading time vs. a game that offers a bigger knowledge base and database of tutorials, ready to use mods (to a point where we can even talk about full conversions) and working tools over a game that might load faster, but is a nightmare for modders. But the decision which game you orefer to modify is up to you. Maybe 2k20 is ok for people who are morefnas of the current WWE era. If you prefer Golden- and Attitude -Era WWE2k19 is still the game to go, I say. So Kudos to all the people who create mods for 2k20. But I wouldn't waste my time on that game. Pepsiguy2 Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 I didn't tell him to switch to 20 I just said that was one of many personal reasons I did. Quote
noobmodder Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 (edited) That's why I used the word "suggestion". Because at the bottom line it was just that. So did I. No one told him what to do, which wouldn't be the case anyway, as it's all his decsions. We just gave him our opinions/suggestions. Edited April 18, 2021 by noobmodder Quote
