WWE 2K19 keeps resetting/Not Saving? *FIXED*

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I reset my WWE 2K19 so I can start fresh and so mods would work properly. It worked.... but now my game just won't stay saved? I've tested it by shutting it off and starting again and it DOES work... then the next day I'll play and AJ Styles pops up again and all my data is gone again.

Lots of people recommended I turn off Steams cloud saving so I've done that, BUT now it seems my save file is gone if I shut down my PC?
Unless there's something else causing this issue? It never says "Data Corrupted" too it just starts a fresh new game.

EDIT: Alright well I enabled Cloud Saves and it's saving/Loading my saves correctly after resetting my PC (...so far as of this update)
So I don't know... maybe some people can go without it but some will NEED the cloud saves I guess.

Hope this helps anyone else having this issue. If anyone else has any alternates reasons though feel free to share!

Now that your save works, go to your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\xxxxxxxxx folder and zip up a copy of the 817130 folder, put it somewhere safe.

Now go turn cloud saves off. Anytime your game goes fucky, close steam. replace the 817130 folder with your backup version.

Backup that folder if you make big changes or progress in your game. Keep lots of versions.

I am getting this quite frequently. I install mods, play the game, go back the next day, get the slow load, then as much as I am a fan of AJ Style... I hate to see him at the beginning of my game because I know what that means.  I backed up the entire 817130 folder properly, replaced it as everything says, and I get this screen.

Close your game. ctrl-alt-del CLOSE STEAM. Replace 817130. reboot it.

In addition, I don't know if you have any other Steam games or wwe steam games like 2k18 or previous installed, always close and reopen the steam app before launching 2k19 if you have launched any other game.
