WWE 2K19 Game Corrupts Unless Played Offline Mode

So, I have isolated a problem with the game. I was unable to edit Created Shows. Specifically, the game would hang if I tried to edit the load show or the transition. I rolled back to a previous save and the problem went away.

However, when I put the game back in online mode and tried to run the game again, I had the exact same problem, even though I hadn't made any changes in the save file.

I looked into turning off Steam Cloud sync for just this one game (which is apparently no longer an option in Steam). So, I simply turned off cloud sync altogether and, yet, the problem still happens. Simply running the game in any way with Steam connected to the internet appears to corrupt the SAVEDATA file. If I go online and go back offline, the problem remains until I roll back to a previous save again.

If Steam isn't syncing with cloud saves, what the hell is it changing? Am I just going to have to play in offline mode permanently now?

You can still disable Steam Cloud Sync on a per-game basis. Right-click on WWE 2k19 in your Steam Library and under General, untick the Keep Game Saves in Steam Cloud for WWE 2k19.

That said, something else seems to be corrupting your saves. Try to disable Live Updates in the game options, perhaps that's causing it.
Not sure what it could be, though. Could be a mod, bad Creation Suite Save Data or something else. Have you checked the drives your savegames are on for errors?

Are you sure the option to turn off steam cloud for a specific game still exists? Whenever I go into that option menu, I don't see and when I compare to screenshots that have that option, my UI looks different.

I don't think it's my drives, since this is persisting across two different systems.
