How do i keep track of what mods i assigned to wrestlers?

Hey guys,

Curious question, how do I see what mods I assigned to a wrestler in either CCT or Data Editor? Or is there another app I should refer to? I want to install a Paul bearer mod I have but I'm not sure if I can install him as a separate character? into a caw slot? or should I install him in replace of another superstar? I ask this because I know for CCT I can install a Yokozuna, Hulk Hogan, or X-PAC mod in a slot for them.

Thanks,

Wolf

Hi,

If you're new to modding, you should be following this step by step, learning as you go. Before you do ANYTHING, make sure you make backups and you're comfortable with your understanding of backing up and restoring for when things go wrong.

To answer your question, you want to direct your focus on the slot ID. Don't worry as much about the names. However, as a beginner, you want to avoid injecting completely new characters into slots for wrestlers that are already in the game. For example, injecting Yokozuna in Daniel Bryan's place would take very advanced knowledge to make it work properly. So, for now, just install into slots for superstars that aren't in the game.

I don't install into CAW slots, so I don't know if you should. I'd avoid doing so until you learn otherwise.

Install Paul Bearer into any slot that is not an in-game character or a CAW slot.

To answer the question in your subject line: To keep track of mods installed and in which slots, I simply type the name of the superstar in CCT under "replaced name". Just click on the empty space to reveal the cursor. ;)

So I'll clarify something. So I inserted alternate attires for a lot of characters. But I wanna see how I can tell what went in which slot if I forgot. Is there a way to see that? And thanks for that great advice  with injecting new character mods.

If you name the attires accordingly with the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock, you may look at that. Another option is to write it down somewhere (make a spreadsheet or whatever you fancy) when you install the mods. A more advanced thing is to rename the chXXXYZ.pac files  to something like chXXXYZ <WrestlerName> <Attire Description>.pac and and regenerate the Chunk0.def file with CCT (this will only work properly if you aren't overriding original game attires, though, as if you override an existing in-game attire the file name of the mod needs to be the same so be careful!).

what i do is this:

when im installing alternate attires, i open wrestleminus and navigate to the string file, and open data editor to rename the alternate attires. i also open a text document and write which slots are which attires (in case anything happens and i have to reinstall)

@mattfick @El Guapo @Cave Waverider Thanks for the suggestions and advice. I'll make sure to keep better track of those things and jot down those on the actual pac files for me to better remember them as well. I was assuming if I did that to some pac files I would cause them to not work in game properly.
