Editing superstring causes game to get stuck on loading screen

Hi guys

I have tried to edit my superstring to add @DFM85's JUNGLE KYONA's name into slot 5D4C to match her pofo, however when I make the changes in the superstring my game gets stuck on an infinite loading screen when booted up.

If I revert to the original superstring my game starts up however JUNGLE KYONA is named 5d4c -empty string to be, if I try to use her my game crashes straight away.

I am using the superstring from @DFM85's first post and I have also downloaded @squaredcirclefan's entrance and moveset ports.

I just don't know where I have made an error as I've installed 3 other mods without any issues, I am hoping i've missed something small and that someone can help me figure out what I need to do to correct it.

 

Any help is appreciated and I can send further info if required.

How did you edit it? With a hex editor, you'll have to ensure that you don't change the file size of the String file or positions each individual String starts at, so you'd have to zero out (in hex) the rest of the individual String if your new individual String is shorter than the one you're replacing. Also, try not to use any special (non-english) characters.

Nope I used WrestleMinus to edit the string file, I followed the instructions from this thread to edit it.

I haven't used any special characters and my games menu language is english, I tried running the programme as an administrator to see if that would help but still nothing also I have checked the game folder to see if there is a duplicate of the sting file but there's nothing showing up in the game directory.

I have tried multiple times to edit the string file but all seem to fail and cause the infinite loading screen so i'm at a loss as to what step i have done wrong in the editing process.
