ericg662 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Hi huys, I am new to modding and just started reading tutorials and adding mods. I read in the Mod faq that in the mods folder , i can keep folders like evt and prop folders inside of it. This is so you do not have to keep them in the main 2k19 pac folder and you do not accidentally overwrite files. Besides for these 2 folders, what other folders can I add to the mods folder? Also since modding , does the game look at these folders first instead of the main 2k19 pac folder? Does this folder take priority?I am trying to keep my files as organized and clean as possible while also understanding the way the structure works. Thanks in advance for your help. Quote
ericg662 Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 I noticed in the Modding faq, it states that i can put the "props" folder inside the mods folder. However, in the 2k19 main directory the name of the folder is called "prop". Im assuming maybe its a misspelling on the FAQ? Or the folder in mods indeed needs to be called "props"? One last question that i was unable to find, was before i start injecting chracters in universe slots, should i start the slots first? instead of a new slot, starting all 3, then inject mods? I know for the match number mod to work, the creator asks that you start the slot first and was wondering if i should do the same for all characters i inject? Thanks guys. Quote

You can put any folders there, although only the .pac files within them can be read by the game. You can also create \WWE 2k19\mods\<modName>\pac\... or even things like \WWE 2k19\mods\Wrestlers\<wrestlerName>\pac\ch\ folder (for wrestler mods) if you want to keep things organized and tidy (note that if you use CCT to install Wrestler chXXXYZ.pac files it will always install them into the \WWE 2k19\mods\CCT\superstars\pac\ch\ folder by default - if that's too untidy for you, you can move the files to an appropriately named \WWE 2k19\mods\Wrestlers\<wrestlerName>\pac\ch\ folder instead and afterwards use CCT to Regenerate the Chunk0.def file). It's important that you keep the same \pac\ch\, pac\mov... file structure as the game uses, however. Since the Chunk0.def file can only list the whereabouts of .pac files (see more on this below) Any modded files that aren't .pac files will have to be put into the original game folders, however (.bk2 titantron videos in \WWE 2k19\movies\titantron\, .pck files in WWE 2k19\sound\, etc..) The game will look at the folders/files specified inside the Chunk0.def file which will point the game towards the .pac files themselves. However, the Regenerate Chunk0.def function of Custom Character Tools that automatically rebuilds the Chunk0.def file to include mods will always prioritize files inside the \mods\ folder and it's sub-folders so you can keep the original game files intact and the game will read any "replacements" from the \mods\ folder. Any files inside the \mods\ folder that don't exist in the game by default will of course be read from the \mods\ folder as well. It's either a typo or called props in some older game. For example, if you have a .pac file of a barbed wire baseball bat mod, you could install it in the \WWE 2k19\mods\Barbed Wire Baseball Bat\pac\prop\ folder. Again, it's important to have the same sub-folder structure the game uses (in this example \pac\prop\), so CCT will know which file to list in the Chunk0.def file and which original file not to list in the Chunk0.def file if the mod is meant to replace the regular baseball bat in the game, for example. You'll have to start the Universe Save first before you can inject characters' .pofo and .moveset files into said universe save slot. I hope this helps! 1 Quote

2K Live Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 ive put pretty much everything in the mods folder except for movies. works like a charm. leaves all of the 2k files pretty much untouched. Works well with arenas too. 1 1 Quote
