Hi,

I had downloaded the Super String file from smacktalks website ands it seems great than the one i already had.

I do use CCT to install mods
I have seen that super string file has names likes "Jon Moxley" etc

once i download superstring file from smacktalks and replaced it in PAC -> Win -> String , everything goes smothly

now i open cct again, but nothing changed, i still have earlier names such as dean ambrose (Not Moxley) , Mustafa ali (ali) etc. Nothing changed in CCT after installing super string.

Is there something i am doing wrong?

CCT doesn't read the Super String. The names listed in CCT are the original Wrestler names as well as community recommended names for each slot. The Number is the SlotID is the important thing. That has to match the ID in your .pac file, .pofo and .moveset. If you want to, you can enter a name in the Replaced Name column if you have installed a different wrestler in that slot so you won't forget, but you can really ignore the names that are listed in CCT, as again, the SlotID is the most important.

Also, don't replace your .pac files. Install them in your \mods\ folder instead and run CCT's Chunk0.def Regenerator in Full Mode afterwards. That way, your original game files remain unharmed and you can easily go back to them if you need to.

You can also install the Super String from CCT's "Install Mods" menu, which will install it in the \mods\ folder.

If you want to change a Wrestler's name in the game, you'll have to change the Name Settings of the .pofo file with Data Editor. You can find information on how to do that in the Data Editor Tutorials.

Also, I suggest you read the Installing Mods Wiki page, it explains everything about installing mods in detail.

Your true best way is to use Wrestlerminus, to fix all your names issues

its been a roller coaster ride so far

I learned about changing name

i learned about creating attires, installing gfx etc.

Now my last issue arises related to modded superstars names which completely disappeared :/ I installed Sting from smacktalks website t 5o 7 but still it didnt brought back the names which makes me think its not related to sting.

so I am stuck one more time

Posted

i tried to paste the steps here but it didnt show, also keep in mind when you change the name you need to reinject the file from data editor while the game is running and save the game.

Posted

didnt knew about that. maybe thats what i missed and messed up complete string file. send me link of a thread if you have? or else i will have to delete the whole game and install mods again :(

there should a indepth tutorial about whole steps. everything is explained in pieces and its real hectic for a newbie.

everything is simple if there is an complete tutorial.

I will do a tutorial when i have complete control over modding installation

Its wrestle minus, i have it, i used it to change names, and then i have saved. That when the whole mess started. Before that i never faced issue with disappearing names.

Posted

I sent a dropbox screen shot of the wrestleminus steps on how to fixed the names.

Posted

it helped to change dominik name, fiend name, mike tyson name, etc but later today i saw that modded wrestlers names are gone

i have completed all steps, i just need information about injecting sting while game is running.

When your 2k19 game is on, then open data editor, one DE is open go to CCT open Mike Tyson then select (edit/ Data Editor/Pofo & Moveset) . When Data Editor open click (Name settings) and see if Mike Tyson Hex ID are all the same . If they are  click install pofo via CCT...Then from your 2k19 game click on Tyson and save his Attributes. and test it to see if it works .. remember in names settings Tyson name should be (5AA6) ... ALL his string should say that.

now that is complete different story :D seems like a long journey

once you understand what you are looking for ,it takes less then three minutes.

I downloaded call names pack, do you know where to install them?

When you open sound editor  open rm.pk thats the wem. that has it all . like for someone like Rick Martel. when you find him replace him with the name you want there for example Cody Rhodes.

Lets see if I understand you correct as a newbie modder. 😊

Let´s say I want to install Adam Bomb (which has mod SlotID 951 in Data Editors Attire Unlocker).

My pac-file for Adam Bomb is named ch75002.pac. Is the SlotID of my pac-file 75 or 750? By the way, Adam Bomb´s 951 SlotID is not listed in CCT, only SlotID´s up to 936 in my CCT.

By the way, there is a lot of mod pac-files that have the exact same filename for the pac-files, specifically the name ch10002 and ch10004. So the ID is the same for a lot of different character mods.

If I have to use SlotID 75 or 750: Slot 75 does not exist and Slot 750 is Tucker Knight, a default character in the game.

Am I supposed to write over the pre-existing character of Tucker Knight or what do I do? Is there a way to unlock SlotID 951 so it is visible and usable in CCT with Data Editor? And is that done with the Attire Unlocker in that case for wrestlers not in CCT??

Any slots marked with [Mod] in Data Editor can be used without any helper mods. Those marked with <Mod>, require PerfectPlextra to be installed in order to be usable. Those marked with <<Mod>> require the CAWless Mod from WrestlePlus to be used, and can't be installed via CCT as CCT doesn't support CAWless Mod.

As for ch Pac file naming conventions, check out the chXXXYZ.pac Wiki page. So yeah, the Wrestler ID always has three digits and it would be 750.

Many modders will just test their mods in a slot of an existing wrestler and neglect to rename them, as CCT does it automatically when you install them in your chosen slot anyway.

You pick any slot you want to install your mod in. If you installed your mod for SlotID 750, you would replace Tucker Knight with your mod. That's fine if you don't want to have Tucker in your game, but otherwise it's better to choose a different slot, preferably unused or suggested to be used with a different Mod you do not wish to install. The important thing is that you use the same SlotID/WrestlerID for the chXXXYZ.pac.pofo and .moveset file. Of course, you'll have to use the same Wrestler ID to unlock Alternate Attires as well.

Most (if not all) of this information can be learned by following the links in the pinned Read this first before Posting post, by the way.

Thank´s for your reply! Actually I do have read the whole install mods wiki that you have pinned. But it does not tell you how to proceed if the wrestler is not listed in CCT, that is why I asked about it here. Could not find anything about it when I searched the forum or youtube either. Everyone but me seems to know what to do in that case. 😂

But anyway, thank´s for explaining.

So, I have the Adam Bomb Mod, that has the <<mod>> 951 SlotID in Data Editor. So I can´t install this mod with CCT on another character slot? I have to use wrestleplus??

By the way, what you explained about the different <<mod>> vs <mod> and [mod] is not explained in the tutorials either. I didn´t know anything about that until you posted it now.

There is another weird thing that I dont understand.

Doink the Clown is not listed in Data Editor.

He is listed in CCT under slotID 931. (PerfectPlextra)

In Data Editor, slotID 931 belongs to Lance Archer.

So if I install Doink the Clown in CCT under his slotID 931, I have to use Lance Archers attire slot in Data Editor to assign more attires for Doink?

You just can't install him in any <<Mod>> slot with CCT. You can use CCT to install him in any other slot, including [Mod] and <Mod> (the latter requires PerfectPlextra to be installed, which you can do via CCT's Install Mods Menu). WrestlePlusCAWLess Mod is only required if you wish to install Wrestlers in any <<Mod>> slots.

It's explained on the Data Editor TutorialsModding FAQ and Installing Mods Wiki pages and probably some more. Maybe you missed it? I'll try to make these things a bit more clear on the Wiki, though.

Correct.

What's important is the Wrestler ID in Data Editor which should match the SlotID in CCT. There are only so many slots available for mods, and suggested names may vary from tool to tool.

Great! Thank´s a lot for the explanation and help! Appreciate it! 🙂
