Modded-In Wrestlers Freezing Up During Match

Last night a buddy and me played a few matches; Royal Rumble and traditional Survivor Series-style matches. We picked a few modded in wrestlers as opponents and a couple of them froze up in the ring at different times. I have retro-Mankind in his old brown attire and also Sandman (I'll have to research to see who made them). There were times when they'd knock one of us down and then they'd freeze up, with our controlled guy laid out in a prone position and not able to move/get back up while the cpu-controlled opponent would stand near the downed wrestler and sort of twitch a bit as they inched forward. The only way to remedy was a human-controlled partner would have to jump in the ring and hit the frozen opponent, otherwise the freezing seemed to go on indefinitely.

Just wondering if this kind of thing has happened to other people and is there a common fix? I can post some video to show exactly what's going on if need be.
