How to remove gender restrictions on combat?

How would I go about modding WWE 2K20 to allow matches between male and female wrestlers? Would I modify the .match files, edit the characters, or do something else entirely?

You would either edit the pofo (gender bit) or insert whoever you want at the character select screen.

As for the pofo, they have an offset that changes every time, they used to be static. If you know how to use cheat engine, and you can find the pofo, you can try doing that. (I haven't yet). I'd think you should be able to find the pofo by taking searching for part of the value given in the pofo.CEM file in hex.

As for the manual character select, it used to use a dynamic address that would keep the wrestler's id until the match starts, such that you could pick two and easily change one of them before the match starts. Now it moves it somewhere else before that point, there's a few stack operations, and possibly some kind of bit shifting or rotation involved.

I've done this on WWE2k19 and earlier versions using cheat engine.

All you need to do is change gender from "male" to "female" or visa versa, in memory viewer using cheat engine.
However, you need to know the exact part/hex to edit.

This topic can link you to all the info you need, but currently the gender hexes of each character are blank, since the game just got released.
Hopefully that will change soon, or maybe someone can explain how to find a gender hex.

So if I know the hex address for the gender bit (i.e. by finding the wrestler ID for my CAW in the memory spreadsheet and then looking for its corresponding gender bit in pofo.CEM), should I be able to just flip it, assign the match, and then flip it back?

It works in 2k18 and 2k19. I tried it in 2k20, but it didn't work. I can't say why. Maybe someone who understands it better will chime in. If I mess around with it again and get it to work I'll let you know how.

It does still work basically the same.

Male vs female seems more bugged before so probably better to fight as same sex.

Open cheatengine as administrator.

search for this as an "array of bytes to find the address the pofo starts at.

Add the address shown in the memory sheet for whatever pofo byte you want to change to the address you found above.

As with any of the other games, change their gender in their .pofo. You should be able to do so with cheat engine.

i managed to change gender for any superstar. but for caws, no luck at all
