Superstrings reverting back/not displaying names correctly

I’ve had this problem persistently and after chatting to a few members appears I’m not the only one. The super strings display fine and are in my strings directory. When I change a string value using Pozzums tool all seems to work fine. However...after a couple of restarts the game seems to read the original superstring and ignores my new values. Randomly this will then stop and it will read my added values again. I’ve blocked the internet connection as thought it might be some sort of cloud backup, and stopped that too but be problem persists: my edited strings sometimes display, sometimes not. How do I stop this happening? It’s incredibly frustrating as some of my superstars are just hex values at the bottom of the list until the game randomly decides to read the string. Is there any backup somewhere it could be reading? It’s driving me mad.

try putting your altered string in 2k19/mods/pac/string/win/

then get a STOCK string, and put in 2k19/pac/string/win/

regenerate def.

And just to make sure, search your 2k19 directory for another duplicate string.

Hi mate will give that a shot. Have searched for duplicate and definitely nothing there. Will try the other when I get home. If it does work guess I'd have to move the modded superstring back and forth when I wanted to edit with Wrestleplus as it won't read any other directory for strings and couldn't see the option to change it.

*edit also, when u edit string with wrestle-, sometimes itll pop up and say string size changed blah blah, do u want to keep size, are u clicking yes or no? make sure u click yes. or ull mess the string up forever.

I've done that before, and you cant undo it, the string still loads, and most things show up right, but some entries after where you messed the file up wont show properly.

Thanks man I've never actually had that particular issues. I've even edited with Xpacker and get the same issues. It's like it defaults to an earlier superstring. Which would make sense if there was a duplicate, but there isn't it's bizarre. It's as though the game is reading a backup older version when it feels like it. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I'll try your method above when I'm home later buddy. Cheers.
