Matt6sic6 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 They're fully playable. I've updated the super string and cleared and regenerated the chunk arc. It's as if they have no pofo's or something. Quote
drwho269 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 I have the same issue. I can only see their CH number, no names, although their entrances are working, the commentary team recognize them by their name... etc... Quote
GorillaSketch Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 @drwho269 @Matt6sic6 I had the same problem when installing the SuperString using Custom Character Tools, not sure if it was an error on my end or what. But when i installed the SuperString from Pozzums page It works just fine, the names all show up. Quote

GorillaSketch Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 @Matt6sic6 thats strange. Only thing i could think to do is open the SuperString (String_win.pac) file with a Hex Editor and check to make sure the missing names are in there, Ricochet and whoever else youre missing. Other than that i would double check that its installed in the correct folder. Pretty obvious but it happens to me all the time. Quote
Cave Waverider Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Curious, which language do those that don't have them working play in? If it's a different one than English, try switching to English and see if that works. Perhaps the other languages haven't been properly updated in the Super String yet. Quote
myk13 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 my superstring is all out of wack. It displays Ricochet, but its actually Lio Rush. Mike Kanellis is actually Maria. Lio Rush is Dakota Kai etc. Quote

If so, you might have injected the wrong ones into the wrong slots or messed up something else. If that's what happened, I'd suggest to try to go back to a save game before that and let the game unlock the DLCs normally. That should fix it. Otherwise, try to rebuild your Chunk0.def file with the latest version of CCT or WrestlePlus. Quote

LexRed Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Same here, I guess I will join the ones already affected. Quote
myk13 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 (edited) My official list. Name on the left is the name of the superstar on the menu and name on the right is the in game model that appears Candace Larae = Mike Kanellis Ricochet = Lio Rush Mike Kanellis - Lacey Evans Maria Kanellis = Ricochet Lio Rush = Dakota Kai Dakta Kai = Candace Larae Edited January 23, 2019 by myk13 Quote
myk13 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 (edited) no idea what happened, but I booted up my game and it said save data failed, must create new data. Now the DLC works, but they are the ONLY wrestlers with images. All the rest are blank now. EDIT - I rebuilt the def and now it works. Did lose all my save date and universe info though! Now the DLC works, Thinking about this some more, did you create your original save game with an older version of WrestlePlus and/or possibly PerfectPlextra installed (before the slots for DLC were agreed upon)? That could very well have been the cause of the save game assigning the DLC slots in the wrong order. Or did you perhaps move slots around in WrestlePlus at any time? I can't think of anything else that could mess with slots right now, save for a crack having been applied at any time during the save game's existence, perhaps. I'm glad it's working for you now though. Quote
Matt6sic6 Posted January 23, 2019 Author Posted January 23, 2019 Update on my problem. I just now got home from a LONG day at work and was absolutely DREADING having to try and fix this. I thought I was going to have to reinstall everything again. I always run the game through Custom Character Tools out of habit. As soon as I launched CCT, I was notified the program had been updated. I downloaded the update and for shits and giggles I installed the super string again through CCT this time. When the game finally launched, all my problems have been resolved. 1 Quote

The only wrestleplus slots I moved were I assigned Buddy Murphy a different slot because he kept showing up (render wise) and being announced as Ricky Steamboat, even with a new pofo installed. Yes, that was most likely the cause then. 6 hours ago, Matt6sic6 said: Update on my problem. I just now got home from a LONG day at work and was absolutely DREADING having to try and fix this. I'm glad it works for you now. Sometimes your browser (or proxy/ISP) still has an old version of a download file cached (like the Super String in your case) and downloading it will download an old version. Or maybe your CCT was outdated and thus the included Super String as well. By updating CCT to the latest version and installing the included Super String it installed the latest one, which made you good to go. Quote
BenBen Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I’ve updated CCT as well as the super string and still have no Rising Stars DLC except the Lacey Evans main menu render Quote
BenBen Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I’ve updated CCT as well as the super string and nothing happened. So I verified my files and re-installed the super string and now Dakota Kai is Lio Rush etc etc Quote
Livin Proof 215 Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 Also having similar issues except only ricochet is available, none of the others are available Quote

So following your answer to me in another thread, I went back and checked the contents in the chunk0.def file and for the first time I realize the regenerating tool actually scan all the pac files in the folders, and instruct the game to load them all, INCLUDING my lazily renamed backups (.old.assetconv_p10.pac, .old.string_win.pac, etc, you get the idea). Now I don't know if loading these unmodded vanilla files alongside the modded files actually cause any problem, but I deleted all the backups, rerun the def tool again and sure enough, things are working now! I guess those who are like me who renamed the original files to make backups out of habits, try removing them from the game folder out right, then regenerating def again. Thanks alot @Cave Waverider for your tremendous support to the modding community man! Quote

Thanks alot @Cave Waverider for your tremendous support to the modding community man! Yes, that's most likely the reason you're having trouble. As a rule of thumb, any Chunk0.def regenerator will index all the .pac files (although in case of CCT's Chunk0.def regenerator it will filter out files with the exact same name in regards to multiple entries with preference for files inside the \mods\ folder). There really isn't any feasible way around it. One should never keep the file extension intact for backups (a good rule to follow in general, not just for WWE 2k games). If you make backups, make sure the file extension isn't .pac (a good way to rename would be assetconv_p10.pac.old, the file will then be recognized as a file with ".old" file extension instead of ".pac" - the characters after the last "." dot always count in DOS/Windows file systems - and thus Chunk0.def Regenerators shouldn't pick it up any longer) or, even better, move backups to their own folder outside the game directory, best on a different disk.
