Any tutorials on replacing Arena Renders for arena select screen?

I replaced an arena, everything works great but on the arena select screen it still shows the old arena that was replaced. I figured it requires something similar to how we replace character renders, but not sure what files deal with the arena renders or how to even go about messing with this. Any tutorials or help is appreciated.

Hi,

Can I ask what arena you have replaced and what you are replacing it with ?

I replaced the metropolitan center with a ECW arena i found here on the forum. The name is changed and everything works great, only thing missing is the arena image on the arena select screen. Its not a big deal, just wanted to see if there was a way to actually change that.

I assume it would be something similar to replacing the character renders, but im just not sure what files i would have to mess with to change the arena renders.

@theartstudioangel@  Those pictures are located in /pac/menu/Assets/wwe19_singleread/texture, in the file called ltag_unlock_arena_win.pac, just open that file with Pac Editor, extract one of the files inside of it(can't remember which one is Metro, there aren't that many though), then open that file with Pac Editor, extract the 0001.oodl inside of it, use @brienj's Oodle Tools program to decompress it, then change the file type to .dds(if it won't open in Paint.Net, change to .dds2) then edit it how you want, save with the correct DXT settings(so it maintains the original file size) and then "inject as ZLIB" the .dds/.dds2 file over top of the 0001.oodl and reinject the XXXXXXXXXXX.pac file back into ltag_unlock_arena_win.pac ;)

Edit: The ltag_unlock_arena_win.pac only has the pics for the "indy" arenas, the main arena pics are in /pac/menu/Assets/wwe19_singleread/texture/ltag_ppv_logo_win.pac

hova made a spreadsheet and listed which is which for the ones in ltag_ppv_logo_win.pac here, along with a ton of other info that pertains to arena modding

Do you also know how to open the nameplates files ? I tried decompressing them with RePac but it end up bieng .bin files and I have no idea how to open them with RAD Video Tools :(

Also, decompressing the the .oodl as .dds or .dds2 isn't working for me, I can't open them 😥

@SeeFusion As far as the nameplates, it should be the same process to open them using Pac Editor, then you can always open each file that you decompress with HxD and look in the upper right to see which type of file it actually is and change the file type accordingly, anything that you would need to view in RAD Video Tools you should be able to change the file type to .bik to at least preview it, I have no idea how to actually edit .bik/.bk2 files yet, haven't looked into it.

As far as the .dds files(assuming you are using Paint.Net), you either need to google search "Paint.Net dds plugin" and download/install whatever version works with your hardware, or make sure that you are actually changing the file type and not just renaming the file, just google search "how to change file type in Windows __"

@WhereTheFdidTheEgo I will try that for the nameplates, thanks!

And yes I have the DDS plug-in for Paint.NET, also for Photoshop, but I was just renaming the file, so that was probably my problem ahah, I will see tomorrow, thanks a lot!

@SeeFusion In case anyone runs into the same issues as i did, getting a black texture when opening the uncompressed oodle - after uncompressed the files with Oodle, i renamed the file extension to .DDS, so for my files it would go from "01.oodl.uncompressed" and change that to "01.dds"

When i would open this dds file in photoshop and other programs i would get a black square or blank screen. The issue is i had the wrong DDS Plugin for photoshop. in my case i switched from Nvidia plugin to Intel DDS plugin for photoshop and things now open with no problem. Anyways just wanted to post in case anyone runs into the same issue.

Oh yes it's working now, thanks !

Also for the nameplates files, in \pac\menu\win\Assets\wwe19_singleread\movie\nameplate or \pac\menu\win\Assets\wwe19_singleread\anime, you need Repac 2K19 to extract the OODL files and generally it's the second .bin file (0002.bin) that you need to change the file type to .bk2 !

But I'm still wondering how to open matchup screen files (\pac\menu\win\Projects), when opening .bin files inside them with HxD Editor, it looks like it's not .bk2 and not .dds :(

@SeeFusion  Match up screens are in /pac/menu/Assets/wwe19_anime/match_up

The generic ones are in /pac/menu/Assets/wwe19_singleread/texture/match_up

Oh ok I didn't knew that, there is so many files and folders :S

@SeeFusion  No problem, if you have trouble finding other things like the locators, copyright logos, etc, make sure you check hova's spreadsheet here, he took the time to log the location of pretty much everything that has to do with arena modding, once you click one of the tabs at the bottom it will show the location of the file in the black bar at the top of the sheet.
