General advice needed on My Career & Universe mode

Hi folks,

This may come off odd from me as I've been around here for years!

BUT!

I need advice on how to get the most out of My Career and Universe......

 

My Career

I've heard folks say there are some issues/limitations using CAWs in this mode - can someone clue me up in a sentence or two? I want to do My Career with my character and then take him to Universe mode after - is there any reason why that wouldn't be possible? 

 

Universe Mode

Outside of creations, this is the mode I use the most, although I just seem to go through the paces - nothing really ever seems to happen. I set up allies etc. but I never seem to get anything good on the go outside of actual rivalries. Any tips on setting things up so they work better?

 

Any other suggestions to get the most out these modes is appreciated.

Do you play every match? I’ve just done a week in Universe so far. But I’ve gotten 2 cut scenes. Last year I’ve noticed I got more if I made the match. But this years pretty different. Hey @NickBreaker, good to know someone else is thinking the same as me. I also use Universe Mode a lot now. In fact since last year it is pretty much my only way of playing the game apart from a few exhibition matches. I don't know how you play yours but I tend to almost 100% let the computer play out AI vs AI matches. I would say 95% of these are watched and the other 5% simmed.

Whilst there are cut scenes, I have noticed that these don't seem to follow on to the following weeks shows which kind of breaks the immersion angle of things for me. I have been a big follower of @BrendenPlayz and @BamBams Universe's Universe Modes and they are unbelievably good. That reminds me I must start up watching them again. Any way I know they must do a heck of a lot of editing to get the shows to be more realistic and in tune with how shows run IRL. But still surely by now the Universe Mode could be a little more eventful than I have found it thus far.

Unlike @Kingbdl I don't use social media such as Twitter, Facebook etc. So the only way of contact would be through this website. I am interested in how you have set up your Universe and how you run it. Do you let the computer play out the matches? Do you play some matches yourself? Do you sim a lot of matches or watch them? Do you intervene sometimes with the bookings and edit those? Out of interest it would be interesting to know how you run things your end, take care and kind regards.

I feel like you should play every match. But I’ve noticed I get more cutscenes when I book the matches myself.

When it comes to Universe itself, I find simming it forward a few years does the save a lot of good. It sorts out the "through the motions" element and a lot more ends up happening. That being said, you also get a lot of dumb stuff with it, like Gran Metalik holding every title, for example. It's a hit or miss, but it's what I've found as the best method for getting more out of Universe than the norm at the start.

Nice - I don't care who held a belt in the past - this is a great idea.

Also Gran Metalic is legit my dude.....
