Back porting mods?

Apologies if this should have been in the '16 section, but is it possible to back port mods from the current game to '16? I suspect this has been asked before but couldn't seem to find it with a search.

not from 2k18 as they use different animation files. This may only be possible with disabling facial animations, but not sure. You should be able to back port mods/superstars from 2k17 to 2k16.
