Impaler
Hi, I had a quick thought, Is it all that takes to change hair from one model to another is to inject a different 2710 file? for example HBK has various hair styles. I wish to get ponytail hair in a model where his hair is not in a ponytail. or does it take more than that? can't test it myself atm, PC at repair shop
N'Jadaka
It takes more than that. You got the most important part down which is swapping the 2710 file(the actual hair model). But thats not where the hair swap stops. Firstly you have to be sure that the hair lines up with the texture itself and if not rearrange the uvmaps(the data in the model that positions the model to a certain point in the corresponding texture). You can do that in 3dsmax. Secondly you got to make sure the normals/alpha textures line up to the new hair as well. Normals control not only the "Bumpiness" but also the shine & transparancy of the hair. Once you have those lined up and uvunwrapped it'll work. N'Jadaka
I answered it that way because the tutorials dont go too in depth into that stuff or explain the why, so you'll make a mistake and not understand how or why you screwed up what you screwed up and its probably a simple fix. It comes off as complicated but the process is actually pretty simple once you get past the big terms.
