d-fish
Hey guys... If you install a Wrestler MOD over an existing Wrestler (a wrestler that is an official 2k game file), is there any way to prevent the audio from continuing to reference the wrestler you installed over? I know lots of people overwrite wrestlers to make room for MODs--so, I figure there must be some way... The Wrestler MOD is working fine--no issues--just the annoying intro audio for the wrestler I deleted & the commentators' commentary is, of course, about the deleted wrestler. Thank you in advance... Just to be clear, if I install a Hulk Hogan MOD over Stunning Steve Austin, how do I get the arena announcer & the commentators to stop calling Hulk Hogan: "Stunning Steve Austin"? Cave Waverider
You can load the .pofo into Data Editor and under Announcer Settings, set the Commentary Name to an unused one (for example, the one reserved for Hogan). Be aware that two wrestlers with the same commentary Name ID can't be in the same match together, this is why you should use an unused ID. This also won't change the ring announcement. Another way would be to swap out all commentary about the wrestler with commentary about your modded wrestler (for Hogan, you could perhaps extract the commentary from WWE 2k15 and then insert it into all the Stunning Steve commentary slots in your case). Finding all the commentary lines that belong to a wrestler is probly the most exhaustive part, however.

The first thing I did was the first suggestion you gave, but it's just not working... I've installed it over & over using different slots under the "Commentary Name" drop down--including 231 (which is Hogan's 2k15 slot). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... The first thing I did was "Uninstall" the existing wrestler using CCT2018... Is that important to do that--or even necessary? I wasn't sure... after that, I set up everything in the pofo & installed everything as usual. Do you have any other suggestions--or ideas what I might have done wrong? Cave Waverider
No, using the uninstall option isn't necessary, all it does is blank out the .pofo and .moveset. As for the Commentary Name value not working, it's possible that it isn't working properly with some wrestlers or is ignored/overridden in 2k18. I haven't tested it much this year, the value is still there, that's why it's included.

Hi, with @Cave Waverider's suggestion, you will only be able to disable the character specific lines in the commentary. The entrance announce name will not change. The only way I know is to overwrite the Stunning Steve Austin announce name audio with Hulk Hogan. This was easier last year in wwe 2k17 as Lilian Garcia recorded all the announce names and the Hulk Hogan announce name audio from the SVR series was extracted and injected with Sound editor. In 2k18 JoJo recorded all the announce names.

I assumed overwriting the existing wrestlers was going to be the easier route--but I'm just going to inject all MODs via the PerfectPlextra slots, like I was doing before. Thanks again for the assistance.

Thanks again for the assistance. No worries. I was able to extract all the Hogan commentary lines in wwe 2k15 last year and inject them into the commentary lines for the character I was replacing in wwe 2k17. I haven't tried it this year, though it's the same process.
