Sup3rC10ud Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 I've read somewhere that maybe it could be the game trying to launch in settings that your PC can't handle. You could try and manually change the configurations settings yourself. If you go to your documents folder, you should find your WWE2K18 folder. Inside, you should see config.ini. Make a backup of that file (just in case it doesn't do anything) and open that up with notepad and edit it to the following: [advanced] FXAA = on MSAA = off vsync = on [quality] audience_density = 100 audience_tessellation = on depth_of_field = off motion_blur = off shadows = on simple_lighting = off texture_quality = 0 [rate] denominator = 1000 numerator = 60000 [resolution] height = 900 width = 1600 window_height = 720 window_width = 1280 [window] windowed = yes These are the settings I have currently for my game. Hopefully this works. Quote
Cave Waverider Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 First, are your drivers up to date, especially the video drivers? Download them from the manufacturers website, don't use the ones from Windows Update, since they often aren't fully featured or not really meant for your hardware and can cause compatibility issues. For example, for your Nvidia video card you'll want to download and install the latest drivers from nvidia.com. I would also suggest to run Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe mode before installing the new video card drivers to get rid of any junk/remains from older drivers. Second, it might be an incompatibility with some other program and your system. Do you have any programs installed that hook into Direct3D? Those can be screenshot programs, programs that produce an overlay (for example monitoring programs like MSI Afterburner), etc.. Try disabling all startup programs and see if that helps, and if it does, re-enabling them one-by-one to see which one causes the problem. Then check if there are any updates available for the program and install them to see if it's better. Quote
subzero1970 Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 my gfx drivers are as up to date as of today, im not sure what you mean about programs that produce an overlay, and im not 100% sure how to disable startup programs, i'll try the display driver uninstaller, and as recent as yesterday i rolled back to windows 7 hoping it was a compatibility issue with that OS but sadly not Quote
Cave Waverider Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 There are many programs that produce overlays or hook into Direct3D. Things like Overwolf, MSI Afterburner, EVGA Precision, Riva Tuner Statistics server, FRAPS, GeForce Experience, ReShade, are a few examples. Also, are you sure you have a 64 bit operating system installed? Press Win+Pause and it should say either 32 bit or 64 bit there. If it's 32 bit, the game won't run, you will have to install a 64 bit operating system. Also, be sure that the SDD/HDD your Temp folder is on has plenty of free space, otherwise the game might not be able to put it's temporary files there. Quote
