WWE 2K18 Platform Poll

  1. 1. For which platform will you buy the game?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. It's been a little while! :) I said I was going to sit out last year and that's exactly what I did. But, as WWE 2K18 draws ever closer, the itch to jump back in grows stronger and stronger... So here I am with a question.

Now, aside from the dedicated modders and site administrators (ie: the people who consistently wind up with a copy of the game on every platform), I'm honestly very curious to know which version of WWE 2K18 everyone plans on buying, or has already preordered?

I'm strongly leaning towards the PC version myself (by the way, does anyone know if ultrawide support has been confirmed for PC?), but I'm also considering and haven't completely ruled out the PS4 version. Both versions have their respective "pluses and minuses" when I compare them, but I'll have to make a decision soon.  I am NOT going to spend ~$200.00 on two versions of the same game that will, in less than one year's time, become virtually obsolete (obbbbbbbbbb-soooooooo-leeeeeeeeeeeeeet!)

I pre-ordered the basic version on PC, and I think that i'll get the Switch version if it's good.

Can't wait to mod the hell of the game. :D

Since wide screen support was working last year, I'd assume it will do so this year as well. If not, then you'll probably be able to set it yourself via .ini or something.

I've already pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition on the PC. I likely won't get any other version this time around, unless it comes out for free in the Games with Gold program again some time next year, like the previous ones have in the past or if somebody unexpectedly gifts it to me again (my brother gifted me the Xbox One version last year even though I only planned getting the PC version).

The PC version is simply superior in any ways that matter to me (graphics quality & options, mods, etc.) and I can play it on my Desktop at home either on my Monitor or on my big UHD TV or when I'm on the road with my laptop. And I have the choice whether to use an Xbox One gamepad, a PS4 DualShock Controller or any other controller that's usable on the PC. That said, I've always been a PC gamer first and foremost, so whenever I can get a game on the PC instead of a console, I'll do so.

PC version for me because of the awesome modding community ;) .

I haven't preordered yet,  I want the DX version but I'm still hunting for the best price on the net.

PS4, pro if that matters. Lots of people getting it on PC.. wish mine worked so I could join that community. CAWing and mods of superstars from previous games is definitely awesome.. the freedom to modify trons, use old textures and the improved graphics is crazy.. wish you could do that on console lol

when I get it on PC, it’ll be the third device I play WWE 2K on. 16 on XBONE, 17&18 on PS4 and maybe 19 for PC.. let’s see

I pre-ordered it on PS4. Digital Deluxe edition. I would have pre-ordered it on PC if I knew before and if it was 4 days early too.

According to the poll, so far no one gives a shit about Switch.

I would at least pretend to give a shit, but I'm too loyal to the Xbox controllers to switch.

So I've been spending the last couple of days getting caught up on this year's game. I've read a ton of previews, watched a bunch of pre-release "hype-reels" on YouTube, and I'll admit, a lot of things are looking very impressive. But, I also have to say (and it's so disappointing because this is such a big deal-breaker for me) that I'm simply astonished at how bad the commentary remains in this franchise. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's so bad that I'm contemplating sitting out yet another year. I know the videos I've watched aren't representative of the game's final retail code, but I have to think it's pretty damn close. From a technical point of view, it's beyond inexcusable to release a WWE wrestling game with commentary executed this poorly.

From a consumer standpoint, I am extremely disappointed. When it was first announced that Cole, Graves & Saxton were doing the commentary, I was literally overjoyed. In my opinion, the in-match commentary has been the weakest link in this franchise for years. A new commentary team and a clean slate were exactly what this game needed. Finally, no more awkward and stilted unnatural sounding phrases, no more lulls of dead-air, no more ambiguous references to the two wrestlers doing the dance on-screen, and, best of all, no more rehashed lines that have been recycled over the last decade!

Unfortunately, it seems like none of that ever came to be, and in all honestly, WWE 2K18 sounds a lot like the garbage we've had to listen to for years, except this time around, they swapped out JBL and The King for Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. I guess that's a plus?

One day. One day it'll happen. Obviously not while this development team's at the helm. But one day, they're going to make a WWE video game with commentary that sounds like this:

And, my friends, it will be abbbsoluuutely.......
