X-Packer Beginner Questions - Where are the attire DDS files??

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hey - another newb question regarding texture mods in X-Packer:

I'm trying to change the design on an attire. I know that attire files are contained within the 000A.zlib > However when I open in X-Packer, the only *.DDS files that show are

1) all_ao

2) all_n

3) eye

4) eye_ao

The other objects are listed (outfit, elbow pad, knee pad, etc) but when I extract them, they come out as *.pac files, which I cannot edit. What am doing wrong? How can I access the *.dds attire textures so that I can edit them in photoshop? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for answering my newb questions :)

Hey, I thought I'd try my hand at doing a texture mod with Pac tool and immediately hit a wall.

This is probably a ridiculous question but why can't I open standard .pac files with Pac tool? Is there some sort of unlocking step I need to take?

I can open modded pacs just fine, just not the original 2k pac files. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :)

Did you get some kind of error?

Ahh yeah I got that whilst opening up a pac the other day, I just used xpacker to extract it, but I assume you don't have that. Whose pac file is it?

Yea, I actually have ordered X-Packer just waiting for my email, so thought I'd give Pac tool a go.

I've tried Bam Bam and Jericho '01 - both same error.

Yeah, mine was with Jericho too. Try this tool in the mean time to open that pac. This one always works.

@GameElite™

Tried to open bam bam pac file from game directory in X-Packer - Error notice: Invalid Pac File

Again, I can open up any Modded pac file, but none of the standard pac files will open in either X-Packer or Pac tool! What am I doing wrong??

Lol, no. I was trying File> Open> PC Pac File > Pac File (ctrl+Q)

I'm a total newb, like I know nothing about nothing. But I'm determined to learn this if it takes me forever. Thank you so much for the help @GameElite™ @AmericanONE

ctrl+q is for WWE 2K15-2K16 pac files.

The format slightly changed this year, to open them now you use ctrl+4 and then crtl+5 for the pach file.
