Hi a small Help

i made an dds file in photoshop before it was saving as a normal dds file,i created a normal map of my dds file it is successfully converted in normal map which i want.but after that when i try to save the image as a normal dds file,it is not saving as a dds file it always saves as a normal map file please Help

When you saved it as a DDS, did you use DXT5 Interpolate Alpha?

i tried but same it save's the file as a normal map.but not an dds image file please help me brother trying this from 4 hours please

When you are saving normals, you want to make sure that you select "Save As" and then use these options:

"D3D/DDS (*.DDS;*.DDS)" as the Save As Type and then "DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha" as the dds Format.

 i did the same thing by which i got my normal map but what should i do now so that i can get my default settings back please

If you want to save a non-normal map, save with the "DXT1 no alpha" option.

every time i apply this or any other option i am getting the same normal map but not a non-Normal map this is my problem

Did you previously change any of those settings from when you originally installed NVIDIA DDS plugin?

No,i didn't change any of those setting's i just clicked on normal setting's then clicked on ok then saved i got normal map but now i am trying a lot but i am not getting a non-normal map please help me

I just noticed that you have "3D Texture" selected.  Change that to 2D Texture, save as DXT1 no alpha.  See what happens.

NO.i think there is no 3d texture only 2d which i have selected brother

My mistake.

Was the original file that you started on a tops_n.dds or a tops.dds?

Can you try saving it to your Desktop instead of your Downloads folder, as DXT1 no alpha?

Yes Brother Not Only this but if i use any file i am getting it's Normal Map

I'm out of options.  Maybe someone else can help.  The next thing I would suggest is uninstalling Photoshop and uninstall the NVIDIA DDS plugin and reinstalling everything.

Ok Brother I will Do it Thanks to spend your precious time to help me and sort me out of this.i will try this for sure
