stevieshae Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 (edited) Ok so a question I have is since this year I was gifted 2k18 and fell back in love with the wwe games(Last game was SVR on the 360). I had a few questions regarding release time frames for the pc. After talking with @Coach Hines he explained I have to work on better forum etiquette; so it isn't a mess. How long after the console release does 2K release PC versions, and if possible, why not side by side? [Main question I wanted answered] Next questions are personal ones I have not found any sources or info so let me know if you know or even hope, think, or expect something? So Jeff and Matt are mostly confirmed, however are we still unsure if they will be DLC or main game? If they are DLC would you expect them to come with different entrances(music, pyro, ect) Since they are a PAID piece of content? If they are in the base game, would you be willing to pay for any superstar not just Matt or Jeff, some type of pack, Like a classic Hardy's pack, including entrances, attire, move sets? With the addition(or re-addition) of the free cam for entrances and such, do you hope they add more customization to the entrances, to give players more control, custom types of pyro[will talk about this in the next bullet] or smoke, maybe having a Goldberg style entrance with the superstars name? [*Relating question to the bullet point above*] So I am gonna assume that even when the PC version comes out, we won't get extra features. Il assume 2K doesn't want to work up the console players and give pc players more options(because of the obvious flexibility and power *Insert Terry Crews more power.gif here". So we will be stuck with whatever console is able to use? Last question, As a fan(who works full time, loves the WWE universe) Should I buy a version for both? Or wait and buy it for my monster PC that I spent time and hard earned money to play on in 4K. Part of me wants to but I feel like if I start a my career on XB1 I can't transfer it to PC? Thank you I hope this was a better post. I am still learning forum etiquette and trying to learn fast. Edited August 2, 2017 by stevieshae N/A Quote
No One Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 1. there is no way of knowing unless you work with 2k. PC for some reason is not as important. i mean now the game was announced for switch before PC, why is that? 2&3. you are going to have to wait for more details to come 4. if its the same as the previous games, then no, unless mods count. 5. if you have the money, you could get it for both. or if you are like me and cant really afford anything, then waiting is the best option. and who the fuck is Terry Cruise? No One Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 it was a joke. you typed Cruise instead of Crews Quote
Apost Khan Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 We usually get it in Feb - March. Two big reasons why we get it late, 1) 2K knows that diehards will double dip, buying it on ps4 or xbox one then buying it again when it comes out on Steam. 2) Console users are more willing to spend top dollar on games / there are fewer pirates on console. They know they can't sell the game for $60 on Steam with $40 DLC. It would sell like 1,000 copies tops. If you looked at the steam spy numbers for 2k17 around launch, even at $45 with all the DLC it sold poorly, I don't think sales really improved until the Summer sale where it dropped to $14.99. Basically we don't get it until sales dry up on console; ports cost little so we are just a nice little slice of added revenue they can use to pad a quarter. I don't ever see us getting it until after the Christmas seasons. Plus you have other issues like the release falling a bit too close to the Fall and Winter Steam Sales where a full priced niche sports game would get slaughtered. Quote
the King Lives Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 i'm sorry but i actually have to agree on the notion that pc is not as important as the console versions. alot of the issues pc versions have can be fixed within modding. audio is one major example. where as console needs the focus as it has the most issues so i can see why pc gets released last plus everyone looks forward to that so there's a big post holidays earnings there.
