Modded Characters Cannot Be Used In Video Creator?

Its really great that there are so many mods been made and even I want to make some too but I had a question because I have tried but it isn't working 
So the mods we install don't work in video creator? 

I tried selecting John Cena with the new mod and yes I did get the modded version in the video creator but I wanted his shirt to be there too and so when I went to edit the superstar where u can edit the attires and such it shows me the default attire that came with WWE 2K17
