trouble with data editor

When running data editor what is the game directory suppose to be on because it keeps saying error and its telling me to set my game directory. Also when I'm in the data editor I click to unlock alternate attire unlocker and nothing happens. I go into the game and the alternate attire unlocker is not there. Yes my game is running at the sametime I have data editor open. Please help somebody?

You don't need to have the game running when you use data editor. The game directory is most likely in ProgramFiles>Steam>steamapps>common>WWE2K17/
