Transfering CAWs from one game version to another

Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I'm having. I looked through the forums for a solution, but to no avail. Most likely because my problem involves a certain non-steam version of the game.

So, yes, I pirated the game a while ago, but with full intention to buy it once it went on sale, which it now has and I now have. The reason I did it was because I wanted to keep working on my CAWs, which I started on XBox in 2k16, then remade on PC 2k17. Thing is, now that I have a legitimate version of the game, I can't figure out how to port my CAWs over. I tried copying the savedata files, and the entire contents of the '510510' folder, but when I start the game it says my save has been corrupted, and prompts me to make a new one.

I know the illegitimate version of the game isn't supported on these forums, but I'm now trying to transition to the legitimate version, get access to all the online stuff: shows, new CAWs, all the good stuff I went through in 2k16. Plaes halp. I don't want to try and recreate all of my CAWs, or go back and take notes of every attribute and number associated with them, they never turn out the same. And it's just the CAWs I care about, career, arenas, stats I'm fine with resetting.

It won't work. First, saves for pirated versions are different enough to be incompatible (which is also why modding doesn't work the same way as in the official Steam version). Also, the savegames are tied to the Steam account they have been created for, which in your case doesn't exist or is a dummy account. You'll have to create a fresh save game with the legitimate version. Aside from legal reasons, things like this are among big reasons why we don't support pirated versions here.

That said, I'll lock this thread since disussion of piracy isn't permitted on these forums and pirated versions aren't supported. If you made a mess due to pirating the game, you'll have to sort it out yourself. I've given you a timeout which you can use to read the Site Rules.
