Mods Breaking Created Wrestlers

So it took a while for me to realize what has been happening, and I still can't pinpoint the source of it, but some wrestler mods are changing the appearance of some of my CAWs. Not sure if it's a matter of shared resources between the two that is causing it, but it's definitely happening.

For example, I downloaded a pretty good Hayabusa off of CC and everything was fine. I'm always constantly installing mods, but then one day noticed Hayabusa's mouth area was missing textures. In all the previews and renders, it's there, but not in matches. I deleted and re-downloaded him numerous times. Overwrote the old spot he was in, overwrote other CAWs, and yet the texture would still be missing. I couldn't find out what was causing it and just chalked it up as a random bug.

Weeks later, I downloaded a Jushin Thunder Liger. Everything looked great, then the same thing happened. His mask textures were all screwy. Instead of re-downloading him, I deleted or changed one of the mods I had installed the day I noticed he was different and it FIXED IT. There have been no more issues with his appearance since.

Mind you, I have NOT been installing mods in CAS slots or anything like that, so I can't imagine what the link between mods and created wrestlers would be. Anyone have any idea?
