Only tested on WWE2K17 with all DLC purchased!

This is designed as a test project with the aim to get others on board to help build it into something special.

This mod does not alter the menu appearance, this is a future addition.

WWE2K17 Gold Edition (minus menu mod) beta.

  •     Increases the roster to 498 characters no extra tools required, 100 are reserved for CaW so this
  •     leaves you 398 characters, which I have defaulted to all characters from 2K17, 16 and 15.
  •     This is designed as a test base and will require ch files and fixed movesets, however I have built the base on their converted pofo and movesets.

All characters will be unlocked and available in the superstars menu.

It also provides a modified string file designed for easy modification, requires experience with packing and unpacking files.

I have also included a data.xml file for use with Custom Character Tools for injecting into the slots.

Why would 2k do a takedown on a file that contains no models, no textures, is built from the ground up practically?!

Yet my hundreds of links to models and textures merely modified to work on 2K17 work fine.

This mod does NOT add more renders (just the 2K17 default limit) nor will it allow expansion of the Costume limit of 100 x 10!

This mod is not tested with My Career or Showcase modes. They are possibly fine but I cannot guarantee this, I made it with only Exhibition and Universe in mind, use at your own risk.

I cannot guarantee 100% working with the Create modes either, this mod is designed for experienced users who tend to do all their editing and customisation using external tools. Again it may be fine anyway.

The string file although optional is recommended. use a Hex editor to change the strings, its pretty straight forward, I have forced the default profiles to use strings consistent with this file for ease of use.

There is no change to the default attire (costume) file so is fully compatible with attire unlocker.

If you wish to help, I am in need of fixed movesets and pofos for all the NPC's and 2K15 and 16 characters keeping as close to the defaults as possible, obviously for those who don't have movesets creativity is welcomed so long as it is realistic to keep consistency.

I also need help with the strings file which needs work cleaning up, if you alter the hex editor (HexEdit recommended) you can alter the window and slider arrows to see the entire string file in an easy to use list.

I have used the tried and tested character count used by future proof/ super string as it ensures an entire name will fit comfortably.

Character files are available in this thread but this mod is compatible with all mods.

It may just require a pach ID alteration but that is a beginner modding step anyway.

Update: data.xml file for Custom Character Tools added.

I am still testing this file for bugs so please be aware that there could be issues, I will of course fix anything I find or if anybody reports an issue.

what does this mod mean? how about the renders? only default 2k17 characters have renders?

for me it's ok for renders the thing is that you added all possible wrestlers thanks I'll play with punk CWC NPC MY CAREER

Thank you for all your hard work you've put into this project (And I know it was a lot....). Even if it's still in beta stage, it's a big step forward to enable more slots without the need for an external tool like PacPlus (only if you would like to change/add something, you will still have to use external tools). And sorry that I haven't responded to your last message. Was really busy the last days :(. If you need something in the future, you can count on me.

Not a problem pal, I just appreciate all the help you gave me for the programming, without which this wouldn't have been possible given the thousands of files I have tinkered with back and forth testing and renaming, packing and repacking, etc.

Really appreciate the feedback and hope you can help build this mod, I'm sure you see where its heading, it could be a joint project for all to partake in.

In fact I wouldn't call it a mod so much as a new base of the game for people to work from.

That's why I called it Gold Edition, as it implies its the default game but with combined default content.

I also want it to be something people use at their will, no credit required, just have fun and be creative folks.

 

What I need more than anything right now is a tool dedicated to this new base whereby characters can be switched to and from superstars, downloadable and managers and allow for locking and unlocking.

There needs to be a simpler method than having to inject pofos and movesets everytime a minor change is needed to a character.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy just so long as its simple to use and clear.

I'm a fan of @pozzum 's (cough...hint) tools whereby you just move them back and forth in windows, so if he happens to see this and can be of any help ;) it would be appreciated.

Anybody else welcome to help out too.

Wow, great job!
I won't be able to test it until my new computer arrives, but it certainly looks like a great breakthrough.

I think it might be a good idea if you included which file you have (roughly) changed what in compared to the original version and which file is needed to do what. I know I'm curious. :)

Cheers, I will try to give descriptions where I can, the only changes that are made to the misc files are so that the characters are unlocked, as it is to be used with a new save its best to just have all the characters unlocked, the step whereby you manually unlock things is just to unlock alt attires and anything missed by the custom misc files.

There is no change to the default attire (costume) file so is fully compatible with attire unlocker.

Still required:

I am DESPERATELY in need of tools to be able to change the characters information (profiles and movesets) on the fly, this can be (and preferably tbh) while the game is running. They don't have to be anything fancy, just usable and worry about the fancy stuff later.

The idea: Read the dat and pro (pofo and moveset) information from memory, manipulate it manually to make changes (locked, unlocked, move to downloadable, etc) then inject it back and force save in the game.

Also a pofo and moveset mass extraction tool would be useful (not an immediate requirement).

xpacker doesn't read from the correct (nor complete) list of slots of this new base (no fault of xpackers) so if anybody can help with that it would be great.

I can help design and/or direct these tools if required.

15, 16 and 17 combined, but more of a foundations to build upon than anything as not everybody would want those specific characters. It could have also just as easily have been 398 characters with no identity.

hi perfect plex.. to lessen the load.. you dont have to fill the 398 slots with pofos and movesets.. you can just leave the 2k17 default ones for people's costumization.. is that an idea?

hehehe great job on this.. not needing pac plus..

but this doesnt enable for alternate attires for wrestlers?

it is already set to do that as it is now, I want to have the Gold Edition base as a 2K mix of each of the three games however, if you know what you are doing just inject into the slots and you're good to go.

ohh i miss took this for not allowing any alternate attires.. so there is still alternate attires :D

ohh i see the vision.. then carry on man! :D no worries... i recommend everybody with renders to be in the SUPERSTARS MENU.. and all Mods without renders be in the DOWNLOADED MENU.. it will seem a lot cleaner hehe

Such a great idea!!! Will this include commentary files for the ported superstars? if i can help in any way give me a shout :) @hovathagod32 has an excellent method of creating the new type renders.

Audio is not my strong point, if there is a way to add extra commentary and sound files without overwriting the originals then I'd be happy to include them if somebody takes that job.

I don't know what you mean about 'new style renders', the renders are 2K17 defaults and can't be expanded upon.

I need more information than that to narrow down the issue. Press start at what point? what version of the game? (deluxe, basic?) and any extra details so I can see if its a problem with specific versions.

2K16 renders are 1x1 photo renders - 2K17 are animated in game renders.

They aren't animated they are static 3d renders compared to photo style of 2K16 unless he has found a way to use animated gifs?

I fail to see your point you are making, Has he found a way to allow for more than the default 2K17 characters limit?

Do you mean its a method so everybody gets a render image?

If so I will happily include renders for all the characters if that is what you are asking.

I'm confused.

I think he means 3D models.. not animation. I'm working on ways to pose in game models to keep the in-game model use consistent, instead of just switching everything to photo images... Animating them would be possible but unnecessary considering you probably can't use them for any purpose related to menu modding.

it doesnt work for me... game shuts down after game starts and shows the legal text stuff, then .exe error and shuts down. do i have to instal the empty chunk thing from data editor?

edit: after installing empty chunk, i am able to get past the legal screen and into the "press start" screen with brock walking around... i press start and prompts me to create new data file, I hit "OK" and game shuts down.

edit 2: got it working. i forgot to delete the chheads and edits and etc files.
