Sudden crash on startup

For some odd reason my non-modded retail game kept crashing on startup. So having switched out the chunk caches everything booted up nicely. For some reason it's now started crashing again, as soon as the game boots I get the Brock splash screen and then a crash. There seems to be no obvious solution to why this is happening, I've restarted 7-8 times and same issue. Any ideas?

Disable cloud backups for the game in Steam then if it is unmodded as you say you could run the verify integrity, this will replace the chunk_cache files with the originals again but at least you will have peace of mind that all your files are present and correct.

Thanks PP, seems the empty chunk cache 2 was the culprit. Once deleted, no issues.
