Modded superstars not saving after game restart

I've been trying to mod superstars into the game for the past few weeks but the same thing happens every time. I'll add the mod, the superstar'll appear in my WWE. I jump into a match to check and see if the character model is working fine, and it does.  I then make a change in my WWE to save again before I restart the game, and when I start the game back up all my modded superstars are gone. The only superstar I haven't had this problem with is CM Punk, he's the only one that's stayed after restarts. I've tried using CCT, Cheat Engine and 2k17+ trying to add superstars, every time the outcome is the same and I'm not sure what to do about it.

really? in about every tutorial, it says that you have to save in the game for it to save the mods.

Yea, that was it.

I thought it was a one time deal with the pacplus injection.  Thanks for the tip
