Ch file problem

Recently I bought a steam key for WWE 2K17. I tried to install a Jeff Hardy mod from WWE 2K16 and I did everything in data editor and I put ch file in pac/ch folder. Then I started the game and it just says the game has stopped working, I even tried to start the game as administrator but I get the same message. Does anyone know how can I fix this?

P.S. The game worked well before I put ch file in pac/ch folder.

clearly you didnt look though the help forum. its not the pac file thats the problem, its the chunk_cashe and chunk_cashe2 files. all you have to do is replace them and the game will work

I only have one chunk_cache.bin file and I tried changing it to empty chunk_cache.bin and it is not working.

If you have the dlc, you will get the 2nd chunk_cashe file. you have to update to the recent version probably

I don't have a dlc but I will buy a season pass.

you dont need the dlc, just update to the newest version of the game

If the latest patch is 1.06 then I have the latest version of the game.

did you do the chunk_cache file right?

I think I did it right. I created an empty chunk_cache.txt file and I changed its extension to .bin then I copied and replaced it with the one in the WWE 2K17 folder and after that I tried to start the game up but the same message pops up over and over again.

you sure you changed the type of file to BIN file?

Then the only thing i can think of is that you did not buy the game and you're hoping people would help you with a pirated game. Mods do not work on pirated games. So actually buy the game and do the same thing as above and you should be good.

I bought the game for steam this tuesday, when I only put empty chunk_cache.bin it is working but it needs time to start, and when I add ch file then it says stopped working.

No because i cannot enter the game when i copy the ch file in ch folder.

Make sure that you cleaned the chunk_cache.bin & chunk_cache2.bin (if you have the latest update) to enable mods

Do I need to copy the ch file and than to clear the chunk or should i clear the chunk and then copy the ch file or this doesn't matter?

I tried again and when I put the empty chunk_cache.bin the game just crashes I can show you a print screen that I have bought the game for the steam. So I don't know what the problem might be, the last thing that is left for me is reinstalling but that would take me 3 or 4 days to download it again.

Did you download WWE 2K17+? In my experience, if you have the official game it will locate the files you need and also inject pac plus for you. I'd recommend removing the ch file and installing WWE 2K17+ and let us know from there?

In the Data Editor for WWE 2k17, go to the "Tools, Help..." tab and click the "Fix WWE 2k17 Startup Crash with Mods" button to install the empty chunk_cache*.bin files. Try the default installation settings first, if it doesn't work, try various combinations of the Advanced installation settings instead.

The 1.06 doesn't really say anything about the actual PC version, it's just the graphic from the console version that was ported. You can't really see the actual version anywhere (thanks to 2k being lazy). Just have Steam update it and it should update it to the latest version or have Steam verify the integrity of the game files to make sure it downloads the latest version.

I tried this with the data editor, and when I verify the integrity it says all files are ok and wwe 2k17 is set to update automatically to it is updated to latest version I will try with the wwe 2k17+ then.

I know it sounds like an obvious mistake but its an easy oversight to make, did you ensure you actually changed the extension rather than just changing the filename with the extensions hidden?

I tried this right now and it is the same over and over again, I will download wwe 2k17+ now and try.

I also tried with wwe 2k17+ and the same message appears. I had pirated version before I bought the game just to see if it will work on my pc. Maybe that is why I can't install mods.
